I'm at a point where I want to see Oswald Peraza, Jeter Downs or Jorbit Vivas get at bats over DJ.

I don't expect any of them to be great stars, but if someone is going to bat .200/.290/.200/.490 and play third base... let it be someone who could show potential and maybe improve. Not a 35-year-old with a 65% ground ball percentage

Peraza/Vivas are on the 40-man too so maybe a Torres IL stint now will bring one of them up

They have already invested too much time in DJ they had the perfect chance to cut bait due to all the time he missed due to injury. They are waiting to see if they can catch lightning in a bottle but that’s not happening. The man doesn’t even have an extra base hit this year, isn’t even batting .200 and has killed team momentum by failing in many big opportunities. I thought Cabrera might be able to step up but after yesterday’s fiasco he might be even worse. It’s not like replacing him should be hard though all they need is for someone to hit .225 and get a few doubles and home runs and it would be an upgrade.

Tonight’s pitching matchup.

Chris Sale vs. Carlos Rodon.

Hopefully Rodon pitches better than his last start and doesn’t take them out of the game early. Chris Sale has been pitching like the good Sale of old so if the Yankees get that version tonight will be their 3rd straight loss.

DJ is shot, time to put him out to pasture

Gleyber injury report.

After being removed from yesterday’s game in the 6th inning due to right groin tightness as a precautionary measure the early reports are it’s nothing serious and he is day to day.

Very true I just never saw him look this bad at the plate and strike out as much as he has been lately. Also never thought he would be a strictly singles hitter this far into the season. Another offensive liability no matter where he bats in the lineup.

The only bright spot in yesterday’s 17-5 beatdown was it doesn’t appear getting hit in the hand affected Aaron Judge as he looked good at the plate.

You're going to turn on the pitching coach after one bad game when they've had one of the best pitching staffs in all of baseball and that was without Cole.

No I asked what were peoples thoughts, not turning on him. I just like joking that lately when he visits the mound bad things happen. Laced with a staff we expected nothing out of and a bunch of injuries I would say he is doing a fine job.

I will take the blame for the sudden losing streak as I haven't been around. And to two of the crappiest fan bases to lose too as well. They looked like total garbage yesterday. And if I have to listen to the big mouths of my classless Orioles fan friends one more day, I'm going to strangle them. The Yankees are dirty because Soto runs into a fielder in the baseline while looking at the ball. The Yankees are dirty because they hit Gunnar and Cowser but knocking out the probable MVP in the 1st game knowing the Yankees play bad when he's not in the lineup is OK. Losers not showing up to their ballpark for 6+ years while they suck and then the last year and a half acting like they have 27 rings.

I think he's done an amazing job with the pitchers they have. This staff shouldn't be doing this well without Cole. The relief corps shouldn't be this good without being able to strike out a lot of batters.

Probably not his call, but I think they were dumb to rush Cole back for yesterday's start if all they were going to pitch him was 62 pitches and then need the bullpen for 5 innings. They should have stretch him out to 80 or 90 pitches in the minors and then brought him back.

It’s okay the Orioles might make the playoffs but they’re not winning anything. I have to hope the Yankees make the right moves at the trade deadline but I truly believe if healthy they can win the World Series this year. Even if healthy I don’t think the Orioles have enough pitching and their young talent will start to fade at the end of the season.

I thought they would let him finish out the 5th inning especially since he was only up to 62 pitches and his last start in the minors was 83. I think that was the turning point of the game as Marinaccio got greeted with a 2 run homer that zapped the energy right out of the stadium. I feel if Cole would’ve gotten through the 5th it’s a completely different game, I also think at some point during the late innings even if he doesn’t swing the bat you pinch hit Judge as a decoy as he proved he was healthy enough in the next game with a 2 run homer and rbi single.

Are the Yankees still the team other teams measure themselves against.

I'll upload a photo to Facebook so I can repost here, but I was successful on Sunday getting Clint Frazier to autograph a baseball at the game. He does not like the Yankees organization.

Players who can't stick in the show usually have these bad feelings.

He didn't get a hit until the 7th inning. He ended up going 2-6 with a double and 2 RBIs.

It was an interesting game. The Blue Crabs scored 4 runs in the first including a 3 run inside the park home run thanks to an idiotic dive play by the Dirty Birds right fielder. That was the last time they got a hit until the 10th inning. The Dirty Birds got 2 in the 2nd and 2 in the 7th to tie the game. Atlantic League also does the dumb runner on second in extra innings. Dirty Birds plated him and another runner in the 10th to go up 6-4. Blue Crabs jacked a 2 run bomb in the bottom half of the tenth to tie it up again. Dity Birds scored their base runner in the top of the 11th to win it.

I don't think you'll miss much. Rodon looks like he's returning to 2023 and Sale looks like he's going to strike out 15 tonight.

Just looked at the boxscore see Rodon gave up another run in the second 4-0 and Sale is in a groove lately watching the Red Sox vs. the Reds. At least that one is competitive.
