Got a fun rookie auto in. Shame on Goldin for not taking a picture that shows the beauty of the intended design.

Just got back from a trade day at one of my local card shops. I did NOT expect to run into a 2019 SCC Gold Minted but I am very happy I did.

The rare Ohtani blowfish face while pitching instead of hitting. Very cool card.

That's my favorite SC image. Glad they didn't make an on-card auto version so I didn't have to overpay

I know we're not high on this set here to hold it's long term value, but I scored one of these for $50. Seller honored the price. Good guy. Not all is lost in this hobby.

2025 Topps Welcome to the Club:

3X MVP

Available January 27th, at 2:00 PM ET

Topps Welcome to the Club commemorates the game's greatest athletes joining the sporting world's most exclusive clubs. Fittingly, 2025 Topps Welcome to the Club: 3X MVP captures Shohei Ohtani's entry to the 3X MVP Club, and includes a complete checklist of MLB's 3-time MVP winners.

Just when you think there's no more milk left in the cow...

Regardless of long term value that is a fantastic looking card. Great pickup at a reasonable price.

Didn't want to make yet another Ohtani thread but is it possible that by shoving him down our throats at every turn that Topps/Fanatics will eventually kill the love the hobby has for Ohtani and we see the majority of his stuff crash and burn with the exception of the high end Rc stuff ?

I wouldn't be surprised if eventually all the Topps Now sets end up forgotten. I don't see a world where post-rookie super/red/orange/gold parallels from annual sets that have longevity and pedigree are worthless (TC, Finest, etc). As long as Ohtani has the "best player ever" aura, there's going to be real demand for low numbered cards from premium sets.

Topps/Fanatics shove overpriced wax down our throats every year but people keep gobbling it up. Ohtani will be just fine.

A little shocked by these numbers myself.
According to TCDB:
Ohtani - 2013-2024 - 20,633 cards - 1719 per year (from 2018 on, it is 20,134 cards or 2,876 per year)

Mantle - 1951-2024 - 17,713 cards - 239 per year

Mike Trout - 2009-2024 - 27,017 cards - 1688 per year

Griffey - 1989-2024 - 30,012 cards - 833 cards per year.

Chipper Jones (for my own PC curiosity) - 1990-2024 - 20,733 cards - 592 cards per year.

Fanatics killing Blacks does not help, nevermind them killing so many of the other Topps parallels

i think i am out on 2025 Ohtanis

My favorite flagship image of Ohtani is 2023 #17. I probably won't chase parallels of a 2025+ release unless they come out with an image I like more than that one.
