I dont know why they went away from him in the first place. Throughout the season I thought he played well on offense, and they need his scoring off the bench.

This Lakers team is horrible and the fact they won two games against the Warriors is just shocking to me! I give all the credit to D'Lo for carrying them in the first half when his teammates looked completely lost. I still think the Warriors will win though.

Fakers still undefeated in the playoffs when Dlo scores > 15.

Don't underthink this.

The fate of these boys lies in his hands. And that's why they won the trade deadline.

You must be trying to troll? But if you actually think this Lakers team is horrible you better take off your homer glasses, because you've clearly don't watch basketball

Don't worry, AD will suck next game based on his recent performance cycle (even and odd games). He has consistently flopped every other (even) game lately. Having said that, I don't think either of these two teams will win the NBA championship this year. Celtics look like a better overall team and have a better chance to win the championship in my opinion.

Based on what we've seen... I think the Celtics have been the best team on the most consistent basis. They're not overwhelmingly great, but they're really good at everything and can hurt you in so many ways. Over a seven game series, I don't see anyone else matching up favorably with them. Maybe the Nuggets... maybe. The Warriors just can't find their rhythm on a consistent enough basis for me to have faith in them to win four series in a row.

When AD isn’t writhing on the floor in pain it’s easy to forget just how good he is. Top five player in his on games.

Agreed. Officiating is atrocious.

How is Moody's flail at AD's leg a Flagrant 1, but Schroeder's grabbing and pulling Draymond's leg in Game 2 just a common foul????

The players are partially to blame for the poor officiating. Too many guys flopping around, too many guys trying to draw garbage fouls, too many guys pushing the bounds of what they can get away with on both ends of the floor as well as verbally with the refs. If players played a more honest game, it wouldn't be this bad. The rules also shouldn't be this easy to exploit.

The one call against Klay was a brutal example of where we're at with the rules... the play where he's on Reaves's left hip and Reaves swings through at like an 8 o'clock angle in the opposite direction he would swing if he were going to shoot. It's not even close to what could be construed as a shot attempt. I know guys do this all the time, but there's gotta be some modification to the rule to where you're not getting free throws for this BS. It should at least look like a basketball play if it's going to be a foul.

Google actually hooked it up here...

If that's basketball, well... whatever then.

I didn't get that one or the flagrant on Moody. With Reaves though, if the ball doesn't pop loose, they let it go. Hard not to when the physical contact is obvious. The AD/Moody one was obviously accidental. I have no idea what they saw there. But there was another play where the camera caught Draymond wind up and throw a forearm to someone's chest coming up the court and quickly cut away

We are caught in a weird place and was warned about it. But fandom took over. We wanted to expand scoring and give players all these advantages because defense was too "boring". Then wanting to suspend and eject players whenever something looks bad because we want our team to have advantages. Now social media, including players, has driven perceptions to unreal expectations. Everybody's hands are dirty on this one.

I can't really blame Reaves, but it's just absurd that doing that earns you a trip to the stripe. I'm not entirely anti rip through, but you should be able to make the argument that a shot could have been attempted if not for the defender's arm.

The Moody foul on AD was a tough one for me to see as a flagrant. I didn't see anything deliberate to trip AD... no hand grabbing the calf. Maybe Moody offered some resistance and that cause AD to trip, but he's also got a guy who's like 6'11" 250 lbs about to step over his face, so it's understandable. It's also possible AD just tripped himself... he went to run with his foot trapped under Moody's arm.

I think the Draymond forearm was to AD, but I may be misremembering. If it's the same play I'm thinking about, don't recall a big wind up, but it was a clear forearm shot to the chest and not one of those "stick your forearm out to brace for impact" type moves. All of this stuff just makes it really difficult to officiate the game.

I don’t know how that Moody foul was a technical. If you look at his hands, his fingers didn’t curl to attempt to grip or hold AD’s leg. They even reviewed the call. That call was pathetic.

That’s exactly what I was looking for. There was no evidence that he had any intention of tripping Davis. He didn’t move his arm in a deliberate manner to increase the likelihood of a trip or make any attempt to grab the leg. A foul, sure. But a flagrant? I dunno, man.

i say it was either a clever effort not to look deliberate, or a kind of warning from the refs to remove ambiguity on a play like that if you don't want a foul call. (or both)

I think it was a clever effort as you stated or AD tripping on his own. Possibly both. But if I had to guess, the primary motivation for the call was a deterrent for such future plays, not based on clear evidence of an intentional trip. The refs are pretty strict with trips and head shots.

Im gonna miss the Sixers / Celtics, unfortunately. Add mother-in-law’s birthday to the list of excuses to be absent. I got Sixers, Suns, Heat, and Warriors in game 4.
