Yesterday I hit 13 1/2 years towards the 28 I need for full state retirement. The thought of working 14 1/2 more years really doesn't appeal to me at all. I would be 54 and fully retired, but that seems so far away.

Just keep on trucking you will get there. If you can find a job that you truly enjoy the time flies by but on the other hand if it’s a job just to earn a paycheck it will seem like forever.

Seems off.
They were a ton of contractors pickup trucks with plows waiting at the visitor gate to get clearance to come on base this morning when we came in for work. There were also others in some of the parking lots trying to clear them of snow.

The military side of the Army probably doesn't care because a HUMVEE or the trucks they use can easily drive in snow. For the most part, the military contracts almost everything out. The majority of guards on the gates are contractors and everyone that dos lawn maintenance on base is a contractor.

Come to think of it, I have never driven a government vehicle; even when I was in the military. I didn't get my license when I was eligible growing up and didn't get it until I was stationed in Georgia at age 25 when I wanted to move off base to live. That got me out of a great deal of duty driver runs my 1st 7 years in the military.

Yes I I've said before everything would be cheaper if the government purchased everything they need themselves instead of using we contractors. On our contract, for every item we purchase for the government, we add 24.15% which becomes pure profit.

Nope. My sonny-do list wasn't very long, so it was around 10 when everything was done. I wasn't very enthused about eating out, especially considering we just did it on Saturday.

In looking at my notes from the visit, she thinks I could have a "bacterial superinfection". Nothing is ever easy with me. She took a culture. Hopefully I will have a better idea what is going on in the next 24-48 hours. I picked up a couple of prescriptions on my way home. One is for a medication I have taken with success previously. The other is for a powder to be used twice per day. My follow up is on the morning of the 20th. In the meantime I just do what I have to and cope with it.

Back then, I did a great deal of walking while on base. I usually walked to and from work everyday. When I was in Scotland, I would always walk from the base to the town of Edzell; most times to the Blue Door trail to do more walking.

So still no answers

That is what the culture was for. I wasn't expecting any answers today. Hopefully by Friday.

Being a death merchant is frowned upon here.

Mainland. They are probably more expensive on the islands of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket if they even have the Golden Arches

4th day tomorrow that King George schools are closed. Granted, the parking lot of the middle school looked like an ice skating rink when we went by on our way home from work today.

All caught up on Disney's Skeleton Crew and the new episode of The Rookie, so it was a good night.

We were supposed to go to the fire house and see a demo ambulance since we are looking to purchase one to replace our oldest ambulance, but the dealer canceled due to the continued issues from the weekend storm.
