The graded cards I sent in from the free promotion were due last night. Guess what was not in my account this morning. No surprises especially since there are no consequences on their end for not getting them done.

Default All I want to do is talk about COMC

Have a card (high end for me) that I paid extra to have Express tier grading with CGC through comc. The card was estimated 8/4. It is now 8/20 without the card back in my account, and comc is basically telling me nothing. It is at 5 weeks from submission, and counting….for CGC “express”. I suspect this card has been back at comc for some time, but for whatever reason is not being posted into my inventory.

I got a refund for the COMC Agent purchase I unknowingly made. Seems as though they received a lot of complaints based upon the emails I received.

COMC is not going to issue refunds with the recent changes. I disagree with their stance that there is not a negative impact to sellers. Time is being wasted on having to reprice items. I am disappointed but they did give me space to state my case in a professional way.

I still have 9 left that were due 8/11/25, I figure since they were "free" I'd give them at least 2 weeks...

..now the 214 due tomorrow that I paid for?

What are you talking about? TCG cards? Context would be great

They've done this same thing for many years. Just, usually it was not on this level.

Whenever they make a new bucket for a card, they zero out the prices and everything winds up as "needing attention".

Whenever a card changes buckets, the same thing happens.

I get at least a half dozen vintage items a month where I bought in the default bucket and then the item gets reassigned to GVG or VGEX buckets, or something like that.

In this instance, they appear to have invented new categories for TCG cards which correspond with almost every other site which sells TCG cards (Near Mint, Lightly Played, Slightly Played, Heavy Play, and on some sites Damaged)

They've reassigned over 6,000 cards in my account so far, and it doesn't look like they're done yet.

It would be easy to price them back to their original price if the bulk listing program was working correctly, though at present it isn't working for me.

I'll admit it's been a gut punch, but hopefully it leads to better things. Treating TCG cards as a proper category, and not a redheaded stepchild. For example, it should be possible at some point in the future to filter "Common", "Uncommon", "Rare", and "Mythic" rarities. Or to filter foil and non-foil, or promo and non-promo. It might also be possible for COMC to cross post to TCGplayer, which would be massive.

For me, the "only" issue (it's a big one) is the fact that the highest grade they're assigning for everything 2009 and before is LP. There are lots and lots and lots of CCG collectors who will only touch NM cards, and those people aren't going to take a serious look at an eBay listing marked LP and notice the photos look perfect. If anything, they'll assume there is an issue with the card they can't see. I expect CCG sales on eBay to take a big hit.

One thing I just noticed on the positive side: COMC is now selling CCGs as quantity eBay listings where available, grouped by condition. They've also got rid of the old three- and four-character seller inventory designations. That has some good potential to streamline their eBay sales on a couple fronts.

(And could also help with cross-listing to TCGPlayer... speculation!)

So, CCG = TCG = Pokemon, MTG, One Piece, etc?

I guess I thought it was something else that I was unaware of

Early on, Collectible Card Games were called CCG's, but then someone (I think Wizards of the Coast) put a trademark on the acronym, so people started calling them TCG's.

It's kind of like how no business will ever say "Super Bowl" unless they're a sponsor, and so they refer to it as things like "The Big Game" or "The Superb Owl".

COMC really likes digging into thicker cards with their fingernails when they pull them it seems.

Brought it up with COMC CS once they finally replied to an inquiry after 2 weeks and COMC told me to take it up with Upper Deck. Haha, this company.
