Just got back from our night out. I got to include them in my yearly Christmas season meal where I give the server a $100 tip. I let my friend’s daughter hand the sweet woman that was our server the money. She was basically running the entire restaurants food. She said, “I’m so sorry, I felt like I didn’t give anybody my best service tonight”. I just told her it was fine. She thanked us 3 different times when we were leaving.

The Japanese food was good too. Although the 2 of us that tried the chop sticks gave up very quickly.

Today was the final day. I am typing from a hotel in St. George, SC (about 10 miles south of the intersection of I-95 and I-26). In terms of finding an older case of football like that, you may have to go to one of the huge shows like the 1 in Chantilly.

As far as the show goes, I went with 5 goals:
1. Buy a on card HOF PSA/DNA CARD
2. Find a PSA Billy O’Dell card I needed
3. Find a low grade PSA Gretzky RC
4. Find a really rough base set Charizard for my binder set
5. Find a box of 1991 Topps baseball to rip for the memories

I got 2 checked off, plus added the cool PC pieces. I really want to know who’s hoarding all the 91 Topps! I never see it in any LCS around here, never at shows, and I really don’t want to pay shipping on 1 box.
Yesterday, all of a sudden someone was screaming like they were being tortured or something...apparently the person was opening some sort of Pokemon (they are all the same to me ) and the screaming was because a Charizard was hit.

As for the box of 1991 Topps. I have one that I being with me to shows. Long way for you to come though. The possibility of meeting me makes it even worse...

I did better today in terms of finding some unopened stuff. This morning I came across a guy that had stuff I had seen the 2 previous days when I wandered around, but he was busy. I got to talking to him and he had a bunch of blasters for $15 each. This included some 2024 Bowman and 2021 Prizm football. The neat thing was he had a blaster each of 2006 and 2009 Topps Heritage. I haven't seen stuff like that in many years. I picked up about 40 blasters overall today of different things.

The amazing part is it appears I found another monster card out of a cheap box. Last year, as some of you may recall, I found a 1998 Metal Universe PMG of Mike Lansing. I bought 2 cheap mixed 4 row boxes of cards from one of the dealers. In casually going through them today, I found a 1997 Finest Gold embossed baseball refractor (pack odds were 1 in 1152! ). I just checked ebay and 1 of that player has not been on there in at least 3 years! In addition I found a 2000 Topps MVP promotion card of Sammy Sosa. There were only 100 of those printed and are really tough to get. Those are the only 2 cards I distinctly remember. I know there were other refractors from the 90's and early 2000's along with a bunch of the new Topps Chrome update rookies and some 2024 football. I will have fun going through the boxes closer, though it may be a few days before I can get deep into it as I am back in Apopka on Friday.

I’ve got my LCS looking for a 91 Topps case for me.

Funny thing is, I bought the Mays auto and my brother went to another booth to look through bargain boxes for me. I walked over and looked through a box labeled “random graded junk” and found the Billy O’Dell card. I was more excited to pay $10 for that than I was to get my first Mays auto.

Best part ways my brother was asking me on the way down there what I was looking for and I said if I found any graded Billy O’Dell card I’d be fired up.

Two hour delay this morning

Roads were a little slick but not covered. Driveway was still covered but will be melted by lunch time.

Isn't it awesome to find something you have been looking for and wanting for a long time? I recently picked up a 69-70 PSA 2 Wilt Chamberlain for my PC. That is a card I have wanted for a while and I got it for a great price. I know it is nothing like your O'Dell, but...

I'm just chilling out at the hotel. Will probably leave around 9 and get home around 4 or 5. Going to take it easy on the drive. Will need to get gas in south Georgia so hopefully, with lunch, I can make it home with just the one more stop.

It replaced a SGC graded copy I had. I need 4 more Topps cards to have the complete run. I have both Venezuelan releases, which was hard to get since the pop is so low.

It took us an extra hour to get to work today because the idiot base Commanding General decided to close all but one gate for the holidays. They approximate that 30,000 commuters come on base for work daily. Traffic was so bad on every road near the base, that people were calling the county police who got tired of it and the county government called the base to complain. Eventually they opened a second gate, which was unkown to most commuters. Thanks for the popup letting me know this on my computer after I got to work.

I have a feeling the second gate will be open tomorrow and beyond.
