This is the play that I thought would've been a TD. Bengals dropped 8, and to me Kelce and Pringle were slightly open for a split. Worst case, ball gets knocked down. Mahomes has the arm strength and accuracy to put the ball only where his guy can get it. I don't know why he didn't throw to Kelce.

People really forget Brady was just a game manager until his 2007 season. Still a great QB, but completion percentage was only 60, less than 4k yards every year almost, basically 14 interceptions a year and 25 TD's a year.

The throw was great, just not a good decision in double coverage. I don't know how someone else could blame Hill for jumping too early on that. It's a ball thrown into double coverage, Bates made a great play.

Also, people are underselling the 2nd down throw that was almost an interception too. Don't know if Robinson had a misread on the route, but that almost ended the game too.

I think this does drop his prices some, but who knows. Plenty still believe in him being up there with Brady/Manning/Montana/etc. Multiple rings and awards and records coming his way.

Maybe his less rare stuff, like base optic, donruss, prizm, take a hit while most of his higher end stuff stays strong.

Just checked the sales listing on eBay, and looks like a ~10% drop in most of the high POP commodity slabs like base & Holo Prizm/Optic, or in other words pretty close to prices before the Bills game last Sunday. They'll obviously drop more during the mid off season like they always do, then climb up late summer again.

If Burrow balls out against the Rams & brings the Lombardi home to Cincy, I would assume his stuff will climb much higher and draw a bigger cut from Paddy, Allen, Herbert & others. But if Stafford & Co. pull out the W, I would expect that to occur to a lesser extent, depending in part how well Joe Cool plays...

He certainly benefited from coaching and defense for the first three, but he also had 0 all pros to throw to.

Game manager until 07? Well, yeah, because then he got Moss. And then Gronk came. And being a game manager is better than blowing the game like Mahomes did.

Mahomes would look very different without Kelce and Hill - gamebreakers. Burrow is great but Chase is a monster who makes him look better.
Rodgers has Adams, Allen has Diggs….Montana had the GOAT Rice. Literally no QB ever has been the best in the league without elite weapons.

So yeah, coaching and defense but throwing to 7th round picks and guys off the scrap heap and won 3 rings. Let’s not discredit him.

All that being said, Mahomes is still the guy every sane GM/coach in the league would take in a fantasy draft. And I would too. Montana, Brady, et al all had some awful playoff performances.

The reason I wouldn’t compare him with Brady is that Brady played a ridiculously long time at Super Bowl winning caliber level. Mahomes is more talented, but I can’t see him succeeding with the same high wire magic act in 10 years. He’ll either have to find a way to extend his athletic prime or play smarter. The best ever do that.

Accordingly, losing this year and last year hurts him more than losing hurt Brady (aside from the fact that Brady had 3 rings before he lost the two Super Bowls). Mahomes needs to win these because I don’t see him winning when he’s 40.

There are teams that have been favorites for ten years by Vegas to win a Championship and never won one let alone multiple.

The odds get adjusted quickly during the season.

I have faith he's going right back to the AFC Championship next year as the major pieces will still be there, but to be honest, anything less than that and it will be a letdown.

Maybe unrealistic expectations on my part.
