Cash. I paid slightly more than the last BGS 9.5 comp. I wasn't going to walk out of that room without that card. For some reason, buying it in person makes it even more cool to me. Its the first big Ohtani I've found in the wild and snagged.

Ohtani hasn’t seen a product that he fears to sign. His auto’s are becoming the kryptonite of Tesla’s, he watered them down.

Would love if Topps limited all players auto to a certain extent to avoid the watering down. Eventually the Kanji autos are going to be watered down too for all those 1/1s he signs.

He definitely signs a lot but those early ones where it's not just a squiggle will command a premium as they should.

Anyone else on here finding it difficult hunting for deals this off season for Ohtani RC cards? I think i have only bought like 3 cards so far. Been trying to find some 2018 flagship SSP parallels...but prices have not really gone down this off season.

Trueblue...what is the lowest i should I expect to pay for a 2018 on card RC auto (Topps licensed of course)? I am not going after the top brands like bowman chrome, topps chrome, heritage etc. Thanks!

I guess I'm less excited about that one because I hate PSA 10s but the most recent eBay auction comp being low created a nice buying opportunity. Its actually close to the top of the list of Ohtani's I'm considering moving in the spring to retroactively fund that ROA.

The floor for licensed PSA 9s appears to be around $4k rn for the 2nd tier releases. Might be a bit lower for the bottom tier releases.

Thanks for the reply! I am open to PSA8 and raw too, and for sure won't be buying a psa10. When I look at comps many are from before 50/50 and the WS win...so i am just not sure what is a fair price vs. a good deal.

$12750 for the 2018 Topps Chrome Blue Refractor auto BGS 9.5 TG+ last night seems low. People really don’t value BGS anymore. Good crack and cross candidate if you’re ballsy enough.

I remember trying to haggle $50 off of this card on eBay (not this exact one) when it was around $500-$600.
Unfortunately, someone bought it before the seller responded.
It pains me everytime I see it for sale. At least I was able to snag the purple one during that time.

The blue just doesn't pop in this set. Base, Orange, Red look great. I even prefer the nice dark forest green over the blue.
