I’m sad to be trading Meadows, but I’m also very excited for Civale to be joining my team. With this trade, I want it to be known I am all in and I am going for the championship this year. I am not sure if Civale alone will put me over the top, but I get to add him to Buehler, Urias, Means and Ohtani.

Severino and Sanchez should be back by summer, and I still have Gray, Mahle and Alzolay. I’ll need Civale to help me compete against Hollywood, Jac and Gum.

I definitely feel like I’m going to make the playoffs, but a championship is my goal, and I feel like this puts one step closer. I’m not sure how much longer I’m going to be in this league, but I want the championship, and feel like this helps put me in a position for that.

Also, I can put Walsh, Bellinger (who looks to return this weekend), Reynolds, Judge and Mancini in outfield spots. I can put them in utility with Ohtani or Mercedes/Adley once the latter gets the call. Witt is a nice piece, but I have Bichette at short and if he ever breaks out of his funk, Lindor, too.

I thank Chris Lyle for this deal, who did not mention Civale as someone he was looking to trade, but I asked, and glad we were able to make something happen.

I gave up a lot of the future for the short term, but Martinez will help me a lot. I still think my team can compete for a title this year despite the fact that they have underachieved so far. Just need some of my key guys to get healthy.

I noticed ESPN is set to only 4 playoff teams currently when in the past we've had 6. Everyone on board if I adjust that to 6 playoff teams?

Fixed to 6 playoff teams. Top 2 teams get byes. 3 weeks for playoff matchups, plus the final week of the season not being used, means there are 21 regular season matchups, and the playoffs will start on 9/6

Uh oh, thought I had an ugly win locked up this week, but a surprise poor outing from Bieber (against the Mariners???) has made it anyone's game. Currently hold a 3.5 point lead with all my players done, Seth has 6+ innings left of TOM and Patrick Wisdom, both of whom have been hot

My team started out this season very poorly but I have now won 4 of 5 and am sitting at 6-4. I also have Buxton and Seager coming back soon with Sale and Jimenez scheduled to return later on. I might not have enough firepower to beat the top tier teams but I like the fight my squad has.
