Last night on Goldin notable sales: Sapphire Orange /25 PSA 10 for $39K, Transcendent Japan 1/1 PSA 9 for $20K, TC Employee Red Wave Auto /3 PSA 9 for $44K, BCA Pitching and Batting (both) Blue /150 9.5 for $24K each, BC Carrying Bag /25 PSA 10/10 for $67K, BCA Pitching Orange /25 9.5 for $85K, and BCA Batting Orange /25 9.5 for $106K.

This was the slowest period of the high-end market last year. This year, prices are getting destroyed early and often. And no, I didn't win anything. There has not been an "off-season" yet for Sho.

What's curious is that high-end prices are actually up overall since when he achieved 50/50, or even just last month. I think the third unanimous puts him in that GOAT tier and inner circle Hall of Fame collectors are in on him now. I say this because the bidding patterns are suddenly different from the past few years. He's really the only modern player in the last two decades that has already (key word) done enough to be an all-timer.

Surprised at the orange pricing discrepancy between Sapphire and the other two.

Pujols, Ichiro came to mind but their debut was 2001 so it was right outside the 20 year mark in my head - but yes, great case for Pujols. Kershaw is the only other guy I can think of. Still, that's pretty special company to be able to likely lead that group.

Bowman Chrome still is king.
However, pitching orange + an extra $20k cash, compared to batting orange, is a big win IMO.

I've been traveling through the panhandle for work over the past few weeks and haven't been able to read or post lately. That 89 super is SUPER and those 2019 Transcendent XRC's are awesome.

I was hoping some of you might be able to help me out. Since it's a niche card I'm not sure what value to place on this Ohtani? It's not for sale or trade, I'm just working on some estate planning and hoping some of you might have more knowledge than me on these types of cards.

I've posted it here before - It's a pack pulled 1/1 sketch card out of 2018 Topps Series 2.

I can't help with a value but I will say that's one of the few sketch cards I've seen that actually looks good, and actually looks like the subject...that's a nice card.

Art cards are so subjective. That is a nice looking one, and being from 2018 S2, I think it holds much more weight than others. I could see it somewhere between $5k and $15k depending on how well the auction house publicizes it.

We've been all conditioned with "wtf' moments under Artie that we're still a little surprised when leadership makes the right call .

I know Sho has been a TWP for a while now, but I expect the irrational euphoria to kick in when people see him do it in blue. There's nothing like it.

It doesn't get much uglier than that. Maybe a universally beloved star like Ichiro, Big Unit or Strawberry in a Yankees uniform. That's never appealing no matter the situation.
