Grade, that sucks they need to go straight to auction. Would be nice if they gave the option to keep it in the fixed price marketplace especially with cardpocalypse upon us.

The program is designed to benefit PWCC, not the customer. Fixed price listings just sit there as it is. PWCC is probably paying CSG ~$8-10 per slab. Right off the bat, they are doubling their money on the grading fees. Every unsold card enters their possession, and I assume they have some bulk deal with someone to unload all of those for a few bucks each. They make easy money off this as long as they can keep up the volume. And judging by what is getting auctioned, there are plenty of suckers out there to keep up the volume.

I just got an email from PWCC via the CSG Partner Offers. It says in the first 3 weeks 7,000+ raw cards were sent to CSG and 1,800 have been returned.

Just completed a 4 card Standard submission to lock in my prices. All are Kirill Kaprizov for the PC. CSG really has no competition when it comes to the look and feel of their slab.

For sure. I use them for my Kershaw PC. Prepping these this weekend to lock in the bulk price.

Sweet! I think people have become so focused on the money that they are not actually enjoying the hobby. I almost went against what I like with my Ultimate auto /99 and SP Game Used /97 and sent to PSA. I just could not do it!

Nice cards.

You can't go a day without championing CSG, though.

^^ To the point your opinion is completely irrelevant

of all the people, you seem most concerned about money.

Got sick of the whole TPG during the ending of 2020 (PSA) then Earlly 2021 (CSG,BGS).

Went to NFT and made some great money. So i cannot blame the TPG companies, they actually made me some decent money by being so bad i stopped submitting for over a year.

Getting ready to jump in when we get $15 PSA/BGS and <$10 CSG/CGC fees again.

True collectors that do not care about ROI as much as you and can wait months for PSA turnarounds unlike you . Its the flippers like you that need fast turnaround. (nothing wrong with flipping, just admit it)

Why would I wait months to pay more for PSA for an inferior slab? I've never once "flipped" a card, and I love the fast turnaround of CSG.

You mean a slab that has no frosted boarders to highlight the table or fingers holding the card?

The frosted boarders are like a frame to what you actually buying.

BUY the CARD, not the Alibaba slab.

CSG on a black table or background is a fake SGC slab.

Well I made my first submission form out last night and when I was done with adding all the bulk it had the option for add another service level so I added 6 cards for economy but when I completed the form it shows two $5 submission form charges and separate shipping charges for each level. Is there a way to edit it or should I just make two separate submissions ? I chose USPS Registered Mail and it came to $104 for shipping. Is that the best option or can I change I modify it to FedEx? Yes I'm a newb with submitting.

USPS Registered is very slow, but fully insured unlike FedEx currently. I think that is going to change. CSG has a good system for single level submissions, but they need to update their system when it comes to multiple. I have sent an economy and standard in the same box and because I put ST on the outside, I think they hit the grading que faster.

Tomorrow the new FedEx return shipping is active. For a bulk order of 51-100 cards with up to $25,000 insurance it will be $35. There will be insurance up to $100,000. The shipping will be much cheaper than current USPS rates with insurance. My last order of 80 cards I just submitted was $71 return shipping with USPS.

Only problem is the card grading fees go up $3 per on bulk and $5 on economy

Yup, people will rush to get orders in for the cheaper price and create a backlog. They will get enough orders to get them through the rest of the year at the higher prices. However, their TAT's will suffer for the next few months and people won't like it. Late 2022 and early 2023, CSG will struggle to get submissions and will have to drop prices to $10 bulk or cheaper. I sent off the cards I wanted and will now start to stash a new grading pile.

That is good to know, but unfortunately you have to have the submission in the system by close,of business today to lock in the prices, so the FedEx insurance was not an option. I have my 4 card standard already locked in for shipping tomorrow.

Discod,, did you see the Gemrate data for June? I wonder what number of the 85K are reholder vs new submissions. They had a 14% increase in submissions.

I can change and make two separate subs then and won't get charged unless I send in and they are processed correct? What happens if you don't send it out for a month or two does it just get deleted?

CSG tends to have lag between their grading and pop report. It is hard to analyze their data like SGC/PSA who are better about posting it daily. No idea about the reholders... Maybe 10 to 20%?

I am shocked at SGC getting 100,000 items graded at $30/$23 through bulk submitters. I would guess 70% of the SGC submissions are a negative ROI. It puzzles me how people keep on grading at a loss. I guess they are paying for the entertainment of grading.

I may just stop my search for raw cards to grade. If a nice one shows up, I will buy it. However, grading is a net negative for the junk wax cards I grade. I am looking for a 1989 Topps Traded Barry Sanders. From COMC this is insane!

Raw copies - 69 starting at $7.50
PSA 9's - 73 starting at $24 (50 of them at that price!)

These trends will continue for any HOF RC. The raw copies will continue to disappear, even in the insane junk wax era, and every remaining card will be in plastic that isn't in horrific shape. Why would I buy a raw copy for $8 and try to grade when I can get a PSA 9 for under $24. This card is being submitted through CSG and SGC as well right now by a ton of people. Don't understand what is going through people's heads right now.

Anything 9 for junk wax and newer is still a good value. A lot of label collectors who only want a 10. A grade of 9 is still mint. That is a great card. Couple with the fact that with a third of PSA 9's are likely to regrade at a 10 anyways and you are really just paying for the label.

As far as finding raw Barry Topps rookies. I feel like the scenario you are describing is already there for 70's and early 80's cards. Every time I think of cashing in on my graded cards and going back to raw, I can't find any good condition cards priced reasonably. Meaning, I see a near mint 70's rookie card raw priced at the same or very near the price of a graded 7. So may people are scouring eBay for the hidden gems to grade that you have to be lucky or just refresh new items all day. The best way to find good raw stuff is to find somebody selling their collection offline. Maybe this phenomenon is trickling into the late 80's stuff since the flippers don't have the supply with the older stuff. The hitch, like you stated, is that the current graded fees prohibit profit on a lot of it. Just wait until this time next year with all the grading companies having well over a million cards per month capacity. Prices and specials will get dirt cheap and everything under the sun will be graded.

Please dont stop sending raw cards to CSG.

CSG is a great deal for grading. Keep sending those cards in ASAP. The fees are going up.

Send them fast and as much as you can.

I tried to be clever and get ahead of the backlog, they received my order on 6/21 but its been stuck in "Grading/Quality Control" since mid-last week. Last time it was only in that Status for a day. I still did get a week ahead of course but its going slower then my order from early June. Hopefully they'll get through it this week. I'm setting up a new display in my home and need three of the cards for it so I'm kinda in limbo while I wait haha

As long as CSG receives it by September 6, you will be charged the cheaper rates (entered by today). I don't know if there's a cutoff point when they just delete an order that you don't actually ship.
