Home from the movies and dinner. We got there to pick her daughter up about 30 minutes early so we had to sit. Her daughter came out and ran right past her mom to give me a hug. That movie was ok, I’m not big into all those super hero movies and had no clue who half the characters were. We had Mexican for dinner, it was great. Tried a new place and I will be back. Plans for next Saturday with just me and her.

I have never lived in Baltimore. When I lived in Maryland, I lived in crime ridden Charles County. Even as crime ridden as that county was, it couldn't hold a candle to Baltimore. The only time I ever went into Baltimore was the occasional Orioles game (maybe once a year), the occasional trip to the B&O Railroad Museum (maybe once every 5+ years), and a few times with friends to photograph fire apparatus. Baltimore is a cesspool.

There was a very tragic incident at the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs stadium Friday night. My MIL happened to be there and thankfully, so was our Chief. The bouncy castle lifted up out of the ground and flew onto the field with children inside. Two children were ejected and one, a 5 year old, later died. The bouncy castle operated grabbed onto one of the mooring lines and was dragged into a picnic table where she let go as her shoulder became dislocated. It was a chaotic scene to say the least. My SD was working the ER and helped treat the bouncy castle operator.

In the photo, the guy in the maroon shorts and blue shirt by the vehicle is our Chief and the tan shorts and blue shirt is his FIL; also a member of our fire department.

Isn’t this something that happens quite a bit with these things? How are parents putting their kids in these things? I wouldn’t trust those companies.

How terrible for that family and everyone involved

Yes, people don’t realize how dangerous these things are. There are plenty of good companies that do it right with sandbags to counterweight the things, but there are many companies that don’t. Here they have to have certificates of liability on file with the city to have any of them on our property after a company was used that didn’t care and there was an issue.

I think I could do it.

When we were in our early 20's, my husband broke his ankle playing basketball. We went to a Tracy Chapman concert in Baltimore and he insisted we part a little further from the venue so we could get free parking. We had to walk past a very very large group of unhoused individuals who were very aggressive in their panhandling style. He was so nervous because he didn't think he would be able to protect me if something went sideways.

My husband and the boys are going to OCNJ with his dad and brother over labor day weekend. I am staying home. L is going to pick him and I out new matching sweatshirts. I am excited to see what he picks us!

My boss is actually here. We're having a meeting sometime this morning to catch her up. Her shoulder is already hurting her after her drive.

I think that's who I got. If you want the pink send me your address, I'll get it out sometime this week (maybe along with a bag of poo).

If anyone cares, blasters are up on Target.

Appreciate that, Boo. PM incoming.

May snag a blaster or two later this week as well if they're still in stock.
