Thank you for your help. It turns out that I just had to respond to the claim by the 25th. I messaged the buyer to hang in there a little longer and that if it doesnt get delivered by the 30 days I will issue a refund. Thanks again for your response.

Telling some people to wait that long will end up in you getting a negative feedback. Let it play out for a couple more days and see how they respond. Then refund accordingly. You will be covered under the insurance. If the buyer didn't reach out ahead of time inquiring about it, they probably are not going to have the patience to wait 30 days. Sellers really do not have to fight these claims like they do. I have never had a single one declined. And I have the tens of thousands of transactions to back up what I am saying. You will be covered.

There is no risk. You are covered if you have refunded them.

Have they changed the policy? I have had a claim "voided" (denied), but it was early in the program.

I didn’t use it when it first started so I’m not sure what was happening then. All I know is I’ve never had one denied. And I’ve had almost every scenario you can think of.

On an ese I would just refund. There is really no reason not to do so. With others I would let it run its course then if it ever shows delivered contact ebay

They will refund you if the tracking shows delivered

Default ESE Refund question

I've done lots of refund claims on lost ESE orders for single cards, but I've never done one for an order that was multiple items won and ended more than $20. (I usually just upgrade to 1st class then.)

Just curious if anyone has been refunded for a lost of ESE order of more than $20.

No, because you're supposed to use Ground Advantage then (ESE if for singles or lots UP TO $20)

That used to be true, but they changed it for combined orders. This is from the Ebay site:

eBay standard envelope shipments include shipment protections in the case of loss or damage while in transit. Each shipment includes up to $20 of shipment protection on single-item orders, and up to $50 on combined orders.

I had one a few months back that was twenty something and received the insurance on it. That's the only ESE over $20 I've ever lost.

Yes. It was no biggie. If it's all just one order, then it's one order. I had one that was multiple orders and I didn't even use the combine option. I just copied and pasted the tracking # to the other items and still no problem.

I use the ESE whenever I can, for any amount they allow. I have had just as many problems with $10-$20 cards as I have had with the ones from $1-$10....both levels are next to 0 problems with the exception of non-paying bidders.....but those happen at every level. To those who don't want to use it for $10-$20 cards, thank you.

I use a flat rate shipping fee which includes..... ESE (Armalope), Supplies ( tape, envelopes, Top Loaders etc..) and shipping up to 3 oz.

The rate will fluctuate between $1-$3 depending on player and price of the card. I strictly do BIN because $.99 and ride auctions weren't cutting it. Now if it's a really hot player at the moment maybe I do a auction but otherwise it's BIN. The higher the price the lower the shipping so for instance I sell a card for $.99 BIN it's going to have the $3 shipping and a card that sells for say $9.99 I'll do the $1-$2 shipping. All of my items are clearly marked as ESE so there is no confusion and no room for negative feedback because of the S/H amount.

I used something similar to those Armalopes a few years for a low cost shipping and there were complaints for insufficient shipping. I am guessing it was over the fact that it was the sturdiness of the envelope. So I will not even venture to use them for ESE other than what has been put out to be used which is a 3.63x6.5 pwe.

I have seen too many issues with using anything but standard envelopes. I would imagine that 99% of them will never have an issue but they often run under a system where if one of your items get flagged others will as well. All it takes is one local office to raise that flag.

I have shipped pwe well before the ese and over they years have very few issues using standard envelopes. So I will continue to use them. The vast majority of issues reported on ese shipments the sellerbused non standard envelopes

eBay just sent me an email saying "good news your buyer's item has arrived." Hopefully it actually did and this is a happy ending.

I had one come back postage due that was just two cards in a Card Saver. Hopefully this is an isolated incident.
