2017 Bowman Chrome Judge auto to me is like the 2008 Bowman Draft Chrome Kershaw Auto.

Kershaws was limited to 250 copies...very rare for a RC logo which is what makes it appealing. These very rarely come up for sale, and when they do in gem mint condition, they go for big coin.

Judges card may not be as limited, but still SPd! Hopefully supply will dry up soon!

Conversely they love the 83 design and only want the Archives auto.

This is how collectors collect, not based on print runs or what is "THE" auto to have.

Also I wish we would stop money shaming collectors. Most people have budgets and if you think your a big baller by buying Judge Heritage autos that's kinda sad.
Very true, and I only have 1 auto, it just happens to be the H blue...big baller I am... hardly! I felt I paid way too much for it, and now my paid price is cheaper than what I could snag an Archive for, and my H has doubled in price of what I paid. You are incorrect that collectors don't go after SP's... maybe you don't, but you can't cover everyone with that blanket statement.

Went for $1500 less than the PSA 10 last night. Wonder if BGS Black Labels are hurting the regular BGS 10 (which aren't easy to get).

Or it could be the typical bidders missing one auction over another, or paying too much in auction for the same card sitting in a BIN for much less... buyers can be really dumb

Gem Mint Archives Base Auto just popped up on eBay. It will be interesting to see what it sells for.

PSA 10 is getting real popular in basketball and vintage baseball. Maybe set registry collectors are getting in early? Who knows.

And I agree, Topps Chrome parallels are just plain ugly.
He won't have an Auto in Draft, Bowman Draft hasn't had Rookie Autos since 2013.

Carved in stone? Judge is not an ordinary Rookie... why wouldn't Topps want to cash in on the fever? This is business... $$$

How would Topps make more money? Blowout and other distributors would be the ones making the money. I don't think the inclusion of Judge would impact Topps' ability to move one of their best selling products annually.

So Topps never increase their prices, or add autos to increase sales? Good to know...

And conversely, if a high dollar auto is not in your budget, that is also no reason to trash the player or people who do buy them.

Well you can still go to their site and buy 2017 bowman retail for the suggested SRP, by your logic wouldn't Topps have raised them to match distributor prices? Obviously if they are preselling already Topps has their price to the distributors.

Exactly. And on the contrary actually, Judge's cost per signature to Topps has jumped for anything beyond their agreed on number at beginning of season. As we get in to some of these sets where Judge wasn't originally scheduled to have autographs, and now obviously NEEDS to be in based on his performance (Triple Threads, Five Star, Luminaries, High Tek, etc), it won't make much financial sense to throw more expensive Judge autos in sets where he isn't needed to drive a product.

And as to comparing Heritage Auto to Bowman Chrome...not sure why people keep doing that.

Of course the Heritage is more desirable. Doesn't mean other Judge autos are firewood.

Can we all not enjoy the fact that a Bowman Chrome RC logo card just sold for $450? Or do we want to piss doxorubicin in everyone's cheerios?

Was there a PSA 10 that went for $3600 last night or am I misreading this? I have been watching this card and must have missed this sale? If you could, please post a link to the sale. Much appreciated.

There is going to be plenty more judge RC autos yet to be released. Way to early to say which is the 'best' RC auto when a ton of products haven't been released yet.

Yea, the PSA 10 would be ideal and should have pulled the trigger on one when they were still sub $1k but I do like and almost prefer how the heritage looks in contrast with the Gold BGS label as opposed to the PSA flip. Value > aesthetics of course but I'm still happy with my purchase and I know the other Judge groupies here are as well

Question for you guys:

Is this card, 2017 Topps Archives Aaron Judge Rookie Star Insert RS-9, only in grey back?

I scooped up 2 recently and they are grey back. I also had some at home and see they are also grey backs. I have 5 total.
