Target Online Sales Thread

Select was tough. I was all the way through the checkout screens in less than 10 seconds on every product and still didn’t get any. Did get prizm and chronicles megas. probably would have passed on the megas if i had known i hit prizm.

It’s really got to be a 20k unit stock or more for any meaningful manual success.

i believe different ip too right? on the first prizm drop where it stayed in stock for 5+ minutes i got an order cancelled that was dif account, card, addy but cancelled. assumed it was ip.

Yeah. Just use wifi and lte. Or vpn if you’re getting serious about it

yeah i use desktop wifi and have phone lte queued up as well but nothing good stays in stock long enough anymore for a second account.

The less sophisticated bots, typically the ones you see being resold, have a series of "events" programmed into them. So it looks for a certain URL of a product and tries and crawl the page HTML tree looking for the elements on the page to add to cart, check out, etc.

When the page layout changes, then the bot can't find the elements to try and mimic and complete the artificial order. The bot just runs on an infinite loop and tries over and over and over again to complete the programmed series of events.

So, unless the bot owner knows how to reprogram their bot, these resold bots are being rendered useless.

Now, there are plenty of other smart people out there who have programmed much more sophisticated bots to work around the various changes that Target makes.

It absolutely is a game of cat and mouse. When they make the changes before each drop, it is tough for a DEV to calculate the changes and then package it up and send out to all customers before the product would sell out. Most of these bots are not cloud or SAAS based, they run on the clients machine.

It has some benefit. Manual users ARE hitting on Target, just bots are cooking a lot of the stock too. It might be 80% bot 20% manual right now (total guess) but that’s better than walmart where it’s 99% bot 1% manual.

Target is losing the game right now though, as a few months ago they completely shut down almost every bot. now the devs have adapted faster than target and the bots are cooking again. Hope this Shape software I’m hearing about helps. Supposedly sophisticated antibot identification.

The changes they are making may be stopping bots that are virtually non players. There are a few I won’t name that had some of their best success today since target went online with a limited stock drop. Had target dropped 50-100k worth of stock you would have seen bot order quantities in the hundreds.

Lol 80-20%?!? I’m at a point where Im counting bots and discord/monitor people. On Prizm and Select the last 2 weeks no chance it’s been less than 95% to them. Probably closer to 99% bots and discord people.

If they are going to continue to basically do nothing I hope it becomes Walmart.com. At least then I don’t have to waste time trying to get cards. Waking up endlessly, losing sleep several days a week, and getting pissed for nothing. I’d rather have no chance than false hope every week.

If you count people using monitors but actually checking out manually the % for sure goes up. If you can’t beat them join them?
