One problem I face that you might not, is that while Ohtani prices might drop 20% by December, the rare cards I'm looking for simply won't be listed then or they'll just be listed for current prices with sellers happy to just wait until the spring for someone to click the BIN.

One great thing about hype cycles is that it sometimes causes rare stuff to hit the market that might not have otherwise.

I’ve never been great at timing the markets, I’ll just grab what I can afford if I think it’s a good idea. Picked up my first Sho auto, a 2018 TC purp about 6 months ago, just traded for his TC auto green. If I ever see a nice Heritage I’ll jump on that too.

This is exactly why I am not allowing myself to be rocked to sleep with all the high prices. Price be damned, some cards made available may never surface again.

Ha! I never have and really never planned to but figured a 9.5 slab is better than a PSA 8.

Here's my recent "wtf, 8?" submission for some solace. Def wasn't a 10 but should've been a layup 9 any other time. And they up charged me - didn't trust them enough to crack it for me. I like the card enough to not crack it luckily.

Ohtani market is crazy right now. I’m sensing a lot of ppl having FOMO and rightly so.

The Ohtani train is at the station right now, might be the last chance to jump on. Because if he wins the WS, TOOT TOOT!!

Definitely frustrating! To me, if it’s an 8, I shouldn’t have to hold it at different angles and study it for 5 mins to find a flaw, there should be a at least one or two obvious ones.

Sweet card anyway though!

After seeing the baseball sell for $4.4 million I am definitely feeling some Ohtani FOMO kicking in. I own a Blue BCA 9.5, but I’m keeping a close eye on the Blue Hitting BCA jersey number 17/150 that is running in Fanatics Collects (PWCC’s) weekly auction this week. Should be a fun one to follow after the big Orange jersey number sale a few weeks ago!

Also, I originally stayed away from the Topps 50/50 boxes because I don’t think the value is going to be very good, but now I’m leaning toward buying in because I think the hype of the few chase cards will just be too strong for the product to not do well.
