1/8/26 arrived date for a bulk order just hit grading

Yes, you read that correctly

Have 11/6/25 bulk orders still in "arrived."

Not upset about it

Two of the slabs in my order arrived with cracks in them. I noticed the box was slightly damaged in the upper left corner, which was where the damaged slabs were located. Dunno if PSA damaged it when they were placing the slabs in the box, or if it was damaged while in transit. The images PSA provided showed no damage. In any case, I'll have to send them back for the reholder service
Entering week 6 in assembly for my second submission. Good news is that my two damaged slabs in my first order will get reholded free of charge after I submitted a case to the customer request center.

Does the clock start the day the cards arrive to PSA, the day they log them in or something else?

Hard to keep track with PSA anymore

I read somewhere that it changed.

It used to be the clock started not when they physically receive the package but when they have opened the package and begin the process of Research & ID.

Since they have spanned out to 105 business day processing times... I read somewhere that the 105 business days starts from when they physically recieve the package.

AI:

In November 2025, PSA officially changed this policy to make estimates more transparent and accurate. Now, the estimated turnaround time starts from the moment the package arrives and is scanned/received at their facility (i.e., the "Order Arrived" or physical receipt point), rather than when it's opened and enters Research & ID.

This change led to longer advertised estimates for many service levels (e.g., some bulk/value tiers jumping from around 65 business days to 95+), but PSA emphasized it wasn't an actual slowdown—just including the receiving/queue time that was previously excluded.

Regarding the specific "105 business days" you mentioned: That aligns with certain service levels like Value Bulk (Dual Grading/autograph + card) or similar high-volume tiers in recent updates, where estimates have reached or exceeded that range (e.g., some listed at 105 business days for dual services). The clock now starts at physical receipt for these as well.

Sources confirming this:

PSA's official submission updates page (detailing the November 20, 2025 change): https://www.psacard.com/info/submission-updates — explicitly states: "Estimated Turnaround Times began the moment your submission arrives at a PSA facility."
Another PSA article on the updates: https://www.psacard.com/articles/art...rnaround-times — notes the shift from starting after unboxing/itemization to "the moment your order arrives at a PSA facility."
Coverage of the clarification: https://www.si.com/collectibles/psa-...ing-stays-busy — explains PSA now starts the timeline upon package receipt, including prior "hidden" delays.

I have a value max order that is over 10 business days late. this is not unexpected considering what other value max orders are finishing in. PSA has said that if an order at this service level is 10 business days late we can call and they will reach out to the graders to see if there is an issue and possibly expedite things.

They said there was some movement today so we just have to wait until it’s done. There’s nothing they can do on their side. He said “an order has to be 10 days overdue with zero updates before they can consider it severely delayed and speed it along.” So since there was movement today, it doesn’t qualify. I asked, so if there wasn’t any movement today, would this have been considered severely delayed and you guys would be looking into it? He said yes. i'm not proud of my response but I said "wow. that's pretty convenient" haha. whoops.

just passing along a conversation in case it is helpful to someone else.

The date USED to be from "Order Prep", but they changed it in November with the following statement. "Going forward, they (turnaround times) will begin the moment your order arrives at a PSA facility."

...but a key thing to point out if that they then added 20-25 business days to the turnaround time along with that change/update.

So nothing was really improved at all. In fact, it is worse since PSA is conceding that they aren't going to tighten up turnaround times. Just except longer delays, and "estimates are just estimates" when your order still takes longer than expected.

Relatedly, I basically grade nothing anymore. It's really an awful service that takes a lot of the joy out of grading.

I have 3 orders I submitted at a PSA drop off 11/29 has still not hit my account. They said they would look into it 12/30. They told me that process takes 3-5 business days. Well I have still not gotten an update from them. Not sure how this is acceptable business practices when dealing with $100,000+ worth of cards.

Before I start a new thread on this, does anyone know if PSA records serial numbers on failed minimum grades? I know they record serial numbers when they grade cards - so if you crack and resubmit a card graded after 2021-ish it will get flagged and receive the original grade. But could you get multiple shots at a 10 on a strong 9 (that might get a 10 on a second or third attempt) by using a minimum grade each time until it gets the 10?

Separately, regarding crossovers (NOT crack and submit, but rather true crossovers), I believe I saw anecdotal evidence that a numbered card might not be subject to the same grade control mechanism if it is first graded by PSA (let’s say it gets a 9), then sent to BGS (where it gets say quad 9.5s), and then sent as a true crossover back to PSA such that it could get a 10 (whereas it would’ve been guaranteed to get no higher than the original grade on a crack and submit).

I’m trying to finish an OCD-driven PSA 10 rainbow so there are only so many cards that even exist for certain parallels. We all know grading is inherently subjective and the same card can receive three different grades from three different graders…
