2024 Topps Series 1 Details - Page 100

Saw it being mentioned several pages back as well, but what's the verdict on some of the regular base looking cards having "1/1" stamped on back?

Some people have mentioned that Topps probably forgot to put the "1st Card" logo on front of those cards which are supposedly the "first to be printed" of each card.
I'm assuming this is the case, given that I haven't seen any of the "1st Card"s on ebay nor SNS platforms.

I actually called Topps last Friday about this asking what they are. Customer service rep did not know and said he would email me. Have not heard back yet.

Safe assumption they are the First Cards but putting a 1/1 on back would be redundant.

And they don't look special in photos. Maybe the design update will help that, but I doubt it does much.

I think I'm gonna put together a reds set...minus Elly unless i get a screaming deal.

/99 certainly means each card is technically obtainable enough that the set would happen. It does take a while for the prices to slip, but they eventually do. If you have time on your side, I bet it would be a fun chase.

Most years, I'm in for 1-2 cases of series 1, since a very high financial floor and I really like opening the first release of the year. This year I did 2 hobby +2 jumbo, + a couple of team case breaks for my PC chase, and can say, I'm now done buying anything other than singles. i came to this thought then i went and used my chrome mvp cards to redeem for a jumbo which wasnt worth it.
at least i didnt have to pay actual money

Topps put out a statement on X that the first cards weren't stamped and you can send them back to get stamped and get Topps credit

Anyone had issues getting S1 boxes from Topps directly? I ordered a Jumbo box a few weeks ago, and got a shipping email a couple of days later. USPS says they haven’t received the package yet and Topps hasn’t replied to the “exchange” request I opened a week ago. Really hope I’m not going to have to dispute this with my credit card

Not bad. Probably bought more 89 Topps than any other cards when I was a kid so the nostalgia of that was fun.
