I asked them at the Expo and was told not until May now.

Would people still crack series 2 boxes at prices around $75 - $80 per box? I can't see why anyone would pay more than $45 -$55 per box of series 2 and even that will be a dud 80% of the time (no Eichel YG).

Trust me it is a dud. I opened two cases and it was not good at all.

At the Expo boxes started at $105 Canadian and by the end they were down to $80 Canadian and still not moving.

It will be interesting to see what epack price comes out at.

They'll most likely be $3.99 per pack but add some upgrade incentives like the CTG/II promotion. Plus foiling up will be a huge factor in series 2 since a lot of people will be after the BS facsimile McDavid auto.

I think people will be rethinking the "foil-up" after a 9.5 McDavid YG Foil just went for under $500 at auction. Yowser.

I'm curious to see what may be done for a series 2 version of CtG or II. Maybe a Larkin and Panarin? Does anyone else feel the upgraded cards should have been an acetate/transparent card? Just looks like the designs would have lended themselves to that. For all the effort/money it takes to make one, it seems like the designs should have been flashier or have something more unique about them. Oh well

So UD S1 packs "conveniently" sold out the same day they announce the release of Series 2. How can this happen?

If they had a set amount printed and pulled aside, would seem hard to believe you could buy cases yesterday but on Series 2 release day it's all gone?

If they did not have a set amount printed, and more or less printed more cards as orders came in on the website, it makes more sense they stop printing Series 1 today.

Am I overthinking? Just seems odd to me.

I honestly dont think they ever had the intentions on limiting UD1 epacks. They basically had unlimited available. They had no choice but to stop selling them once UD2 hit because people would catch on that these are not truly allocated but just basically running the presses on the production based on demand.

I wouldnt be surprised if they were still printing all the YGs from UD1. UD is pretty sketchy like that. Im going to stick to serial numbered cards. They seriously need to serial number YGs. Especially if they are going to run unlimited production online through epacks.

The conspiracy doesn't make sense. I don't see any sound logic.

COMC has the cases/boxes/packs distributed by HITS. The YG's are filled around the hits.

So, in order to have packs/boxes/cases for sale, there needs to be the proper amount of HITS available, which include serial #'d cards and cards that were scanned into the system (hits are uniquely scanned, the rest of cards are not).

I do believe that it is ironic that these two things coincided, but anyone saying that UD was simply printing as they were going and could just print print print until they couldn't print anymore doesn't understand the hit distribution through packs and the falsehood of this logic.

The irony if any would lay in things such as taking down UD Series 1 packs for sale because UD Series 2 may not have sold if UD Series 1 was still listed. If they wind up attempting to charge $3.99 per pack (I have no clue what they are charging I have not checked), who in their right mind would purchase series 2 when they could pick from Series 1.

But then it remains, what would happen with the remaining hits from the series 1 packs that did not sell out? Would they all be sent back to UD to do what they want with?

My thoughts are that it is just ironic and nothing else, and that the packs were sold out. Given the amount of high gloss cards I've seen from each player it seems likely that they sold out or were due to sell out soon. Maybe the final handful of cases were simply cut short and ended? Also makes sense.

Best of luck to them selling Series 2. I won't be buying a single pack.

I think a pretty logical explanation to it "selling out" today, on the day of S2 e-pack release, is that they still had a lot of inventory left over. I'm sure sales have slowed dramatically as the market is flooded with YG's and they've been getting a lot of pressure from collectors and hobby shops to stop selling S1 because it was killing values.

Think about how many McDavid or Larkin High Gloss YG's have shown up around the interwebs. I'm fairly certain there hasn't been more 5 or 6 that have surfaced, likely less. I think it's unlikely that someone hits a McDavid YG High Gloss and it doesn't appear on any forum or ebay.

Just a check on Beckett's pop report shows 3 Larkin HG's have been graded. 2 were 9's so it's possible that one was subbed twice. 4 McDavid HG's have been graded with 1 being a 9, so it's possible that was regraded as well. Only 1 Panarin YG has made it's way to Beckett. Also checked PSA pop reports...1 McDavid (a 9) and no Larkin or Panarin.

You can buy them very cheap on comc.com. Excluding McDavid, you can probably have the whole set shipped to you for less than $15. With McDavid, you can probably buy the set for $30.

I was just trying to make a set to combine for the mcdavid. I hadn't looked at prices on comc and didn't know mcdavids were only $15 now.
