I forgot this was even a thing until I got the email. Questionable value but as a Braves fan a neat little bonus card, Fanatics does a lot of things I don't like but sending free cards to people when players do something cool is a nice freebie.

I want to say that Topps has been doing these bonus cards since around 2017 or 2018. It predates Fanatics by many years.

I know but they could have immediately stopped doing it once they purchased Topps as they didn't mind making other changes to the Topps Now program. It doesn't erase the *other* things they do I don't like (with my main Topps Now complaint being the lottery for autos and relics instead of separate listings) but I do like this one thing they do anyway.

I've only bought one direct from Topps but otherwise been almost solely keeping it to my Padres and buying singles on eBay, I think I've bought one other card of a cool moment, that circus catch between the two outfielders.

It's just too expensive to buy directly from Topps. I used to buy lots of 20 of Ohtani and Twins RC/Callups and now I look at those cards and the $40 off just seems like I'll never be able to sell those extra cards for per card price.

Then the autographs/relics are all lotteries ... which they have totally gotten rid of the occasional RC auto that would have like ~150 autos for sale. Those days are gone and I miss them.

So I don't feel great lol I think it's pretty much dead from this group as collectors without those hot auto drops to talk about. The cards aren't that cheap anymore so even less to talk about other than complaints.

Yeah I bought from Topps one year just to try and get some parallels. I think I got 2 for all of the Yankees cards. Then by the time I received them from Topps, most of the sellers on E-bay no longer had the base card available to buy. It's much cheaper to just purchase from dealers on E-bay and save that money.

I think this sums it up well.

I don't want to keep complaining when it'll fall on deaf ears.

Many of us here are collectors first and foremost, so the flipping nature of the gambling atmosphere isn't conducive to primary market buying for us. I'm much more selective with my TN purchases, maybe four orders this year. I guess if I listed $5 cards frequently, I might still buy more, but I don't, so it's not really worth the effort when I can just be more selective up front.

I am a big fan of Topps now, but yea buying from Topps is a waste of money at this point. I buy all the Tigers off ebay (and lots of WWE) and you can largely get them for about $5 shipped.

Yeah, I was deadset on getting a 20 pack of Machado's 2000 hit card, but at $8.50/card it makes no sense when they're selling for $5 on eBay before fees/shipping. I truly don't get why some of the eBay guys are still doing it, for many of the cards the parallels go for $10-15 max. They have to be losing money unless they 'hit the lottery' on a big auto.

I've done a few singles for PC players on eBay but with the higher prices online and the random lottery for relics/autos this set is dying a quick death in my collection. I would have for sure bought an Altuve auto last week when he passed Bagwell on the Astros hit list if it was like prior years. With the random factor not even worth attempting. It's a shame because I thought the relic/autos were probably the coolest cards on the market the last few years. It was really fun having an item or autograph tied to a specific game. Now they're just a gimmick to try and increase print runs with no real chance for collectors to grab one.

Yeah the autos/relics lumped in with the base cards suck, but more money for them I guess. Misiorowki's last card with the relic lottery had a PR of 8000+, double his debut card PR. Not even an auto, just a relic. I'm guessing his card today with the auto lottery will do similar numbers if not more.

I know it's not MLB, but a couple guys who are big MLS St. Louis City supporters bought 100 of the Topps Now Klauss hat trick card. PR was 499. They managed to pull the entire rainbow, /25, /10, /5 and 1/1. Yes, it's a low PR but I only bring it up cause I know we've seen collation issues before. Im really happy for them. Last time City had a Topps Now card they also bought 100 of those and hit 2 /10.

I'm willing to bet Judge (or maybe a joint Judge/Volpe) gets a card today considering it's only the 2nd time since 1973 that a team down 5-0 and no hit through 7 has come back to win and he walked it off.

Anybody else get a delay email for Misiorowski's 2nd card (#327) this past Monday? Usually after that email they ship like a day or so after but it still hasn't shipped yet. Doesn't have any relics or autos like his past two cards so not sure what's the hold up.
