They are still available because waaaaaaay too many boxes are produced. Just numbered cards alone there are about 500 each for 100 cards set. Then there are regular refractors and autos and assuming these are 1 per box as stated we are talking about close to at least 50k to 100k boxes!!!! That’s equivalent of almost 4200 cases or 8100+ cases. Topps is trying to milk this and over-produced.

Why is there still a line to get onto the website? Does Rubin not have the money to be able to afford larger servers?

I'm gonna pop on my tinfoil hat for a sec - what if there is no line and its just programmed to delay you getting on for a random amount of time to create the illusion of demand?

It’s not that far fetched. I’m supposed to believe that the website can’t keep up with traffic more than 9 hours after the release? Yeah right.

Hell, last night when I read about the set being released today at like 10pm I went to topps.com and got that stupid waiting room nonsense. No shot they had insane traffic at 10pm the day before the big release.

I hope all the buyers are happy to help paying for Rubin's White Party in the Hamptons next summer!

When something sells out instantly we complain, when something sells out in a day we complain. Meanwhile every time something sells out instantly topps realizes they left money on the table.

The same way retail is no longer priced so that the first guy there drops $2k clearing the shelf, topps is perfectly fine with these selling out in a day vs pricing them at $99 and having them sell out in seconds.

The tighter queue is a direct response to bots crashing the site every time something good drops. The tipping point was UEFA dynasty, after that the queue went in severely limiting the number of people to the site. Yes they could relax it off peak hours, but it was a response to bot traffic taking the site down constantly.

It's a gimmick, at 5:45 am there is still a "line" to get in, makes you think you are lucky to have a chance to buy this product

Anyone who bought this will be fine and probably make some good moola. The main stopper for me was the 3 month holdout

Completely agree. This was a no brainer purchase other than the long delay... I still grabbed 10.

This isn't going to have only one parallel or SSP per box. Those are the bare minimum. Topps is going to have a few surprises to make buyers happy. They knew it was probably going sell well by only advertising the 1/1 patches. The better it sold, the more they would add to it. The 3-month lead time will give them time to make adjustments and add some more value to the product.

Ohtani doesn't want Topps making garbage of him -- this will be a quality product.
