I dig the Starfractors, especially the orange and black parallels. That Shohei is awesome!

Well I’m glad I kept going. Four autos in three boxes, two in the third.

Many of these boxes are simply loaded.

For what it’s worth, these cards are going to be a tough grade. I’ve gotten about 75 cards that are likely worth grading, but only about 3-4 of them am I actually sending in. The print lines are deep and corners are sketchy on the back. And the silver border on all the cards leaves ton of room for pits, small print lines, etc. Many cards also have surface issues that look like they’d be removable but are not. I’m hyper critical and only grade what I feel is a slam dunk - but still think this is worth mentioning to those thinking high grades is going to recoup any costs on this product.

Based on my EQL luck this year I may be going this same route if it can be done cleanly w/out any extra hiccups. Are there any tax implications to your knowledge? I saw someone comment that there might be.

I've ordered plenty of boxes from Topps UK over the years and never had any issues or things out of the ordinary. Others might have had different experiences, but I can't speak to theirs.

Solar radiation can be significantly damaging.

It's mostly the space goo that's the problem.

I cracked about a case and a half of 2024 and am planning on inspecting all of the big cards tonight, but I'm not looking forward to it because of this. I cracked a TON of 2023 as well, and this was also my experience. I did hit some gems here and there, but pretty much 99% of cards had some sort of line or ding and weren't worth submitting for grading according to my standards. Hopefully I'll find some winners tonight though, fingers crossed.

That is not good for a product that should have high quality. One of the many reasons I have slowly stopped buying. One thing after another with Topps, high PR, high cost, crappy product release, and then when you get the cards so many quality control issues. And lets not even get into missing hits.

I got smoked on this last year, so my expectations were low for two boxes. I was really hoping to hit a Supernova, but I'm more than pleased with the results.

Just as I had feared. Did some inspecting yesterday and I had a stack of probably 300+ cards I was looking at for potential graders....I rage quit after I piled up 50 cards in the non-grade pile and...ZERO in the "grade it" pile. Every freaking card has some sort of scratch, ding, print line, etc.

I don't expect that every card is gem mint but holy crap, is it too much to ask some semblance of competent QC?

Anybody do any grading with these and have results to share? I've got a small (very small) stack of candidates for PSA, but as I mentioned above, the vast majority all seem to have some sort of ding, line, or scratch, so per my eye I don't want to risk it. I'm just not sure how lenient is PSA with sets like this where everything in the set seems to have quality issues...

No personal experience but for a new chrome release to have over 50% non gems seem like a tough set to grade.

I pulled four cards out of my one hobby that I would have considered grading, none of them would gem.

I haven't graded any. I'm putting together the Corbin rainbow (attempting) and just displaying all of them in a One Touch. Too many little back corner issues on most of the cards, so I'll leave them all in the same format as opposed to grading some and leaving others raw.

I've graded one so far: a gold Chourio auto, and it got a 10. I have a pink starfractor Butler in grading now...I know, never grade a 1/1, but I decided ehhhh, how many times will I pull a 1/1 myself and not through a breaker.

If anyone has any Chourio planetary pursuits and wants to move them, please let me know. I have Sun, Mercury, Jupiter already and am considering doing the whole system.

Thanks

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I've found plenty of gradable cards in my singles purchases from this set. Not a particularly good set for grading but not the worst I've seen by far. Suspect you may be overly nitpicky on what you send.

Update: my pink 1/1 Lawrence Butler got a 7. Ouch...must be some scratches or something I didn't see. Exhibit A for why never to send a 1/1 to get graded if you don't intend to sell it.
