So let's say LA sits at 5 and decides to take Nabors instead of trading out. Giants take McCarthy at 6. At 10 Denver or Vegas trade up and take Penix. If you are MN do you then take Nix at 11 or hope he makes it to 23 or decide Nix is not a guy you want and decide to ride the season out with Darnold and hope to find a QB in 2025 in the draft?

Wait until 23. Take the best CB at 11. If Nix is gone at 23 take the best DT or DE left.

The Giants have Tommy DeVito and Drew Lock, they don't need a QB.

But to answer that hypothetical, pass on him at 11. If he's not there at 23, take Rattler on day 2. Regardless, I think Darnold starts the majority of the games this season.

Over/under Minny leaves the 1st round without a QB and JJ gets traded in the aftermath?

Imho, Penix is the worst option in terms of settling. Has 1st round talent, but that body will be a walking triage center in the pros. Not a Bo fan after seeing his fading at Auburn early on but at least his health is in better shape. Also, all the Wolverine games I witnessed over the last 2 years, McCarthy’s is a noodle equivalent in the pros. Hope I’m wrong but Mich ran a lot for a reason.

Yes, that reason was a dominant OL and some excellent RBs. It's an offensive philosophy. Doesn't translate into the assumption that JJ has a noodle arm.

I watched his throws. Don't believe me. We'll see.

And yes, there are examples of arm strength improving with NFL conditioning/training like Rodgers. So JJ may very well be fine.

I don't know about "noodle" arm but I did not see "successful pro" from JJ's college days.

If we're honest, lots of college heroes have not been NFL material.

I could 100% be wrong. I don't think I can evaluate college QBs at all. But I did not see a future all-pro with my eyes.

It would please me to have a 4xJ, a JJJJ if you will, in Minnesota. Mjinnesjota Vjikjings. Rolls off the tongue if giving those J's the Scandinavian treatment (think fjords).

They leaked the Lions new jerseys. Not sure what to make of it. I assume they are going for a retro style, by switching fonts. The fake mesh holes are weird. But are they dissing the Ford family, by taking the WCF off the sleeves?

Hate the black jersey even more than the all-grays (sigh) - getting WCF off the sleeve was long overdue - they could put SFH (Sheila Ford Hamp) on there and I'd be fine with that. WCF was no GSH, that's for sure.

Once the McCaskeys sell the team, the GSH can go too. If they want to put initials on there, they should WP34. Every year, do a different HOF players initials starting from earliest inducted. Drive up jersey sales as people want multiple player initials and make certain years really exclusive.

I don't dislike the black Lions jerseys. If the pants wind up being 100% black I wouldn't care for that. Black pants with Honolulu blue stripes would be nice.

The home/away looks nice as usual. Lions have a nice classic look about them that's difficult to mess up.

How dare you Sir! I get it if the Lions remove the Ford name from their sleeve. The family just bought the team along the way.

George A. Richards was the original owner. He flipped them to a Chicago guy, Fred Mandel. Mandel then flipped them to D. Lyle Fife and Edwin Anderson. And then in the 60's, they flipped them to William Clay Ford, after those two were caught in an expensive legal battle over gambling.

GSH is in memoriam to not only the Bears founder, who kept the team in family hands for over a century. But also the father to the NFL. Same on you!

It's more an indictment on current ownership than him. Organization hasn't shown enough consistency to have earned the right to those initials. But it's 2017 2021 2024 I'm ready to be hurt again .

If they added VHM to the other sleeves, for Virginia Halas McCaskey when she dies (if she dies, she is 101 and still going). And the new owner wants to take that off, no sweat.

But good ol GSH and his 9 league championships, and collateral legacy, should be there unless the team gets bought, moved, and renamed.

The Ford family has held the team for over 60 years. Zero championships and 4, yes only 4, division titles. Get his name off there...

Caleb Williams averaged 315 passing yards per game, and nearly 3 TD's per game at USC. What is the over under on 5,000 yards in year one in Chicago, when the math says 5,355 yards is doable based on college averages? Should also work its way to 51 passing TD's.

Mind you all, he didn't have Cole Kmet, Keenan Allen and DJ Moore at USC. I think 6,000 yards over 17 games should be the floor here...

I would greatly enjoy Caleb tossing 5000+ yards so we can technically say the Bears still haven't had a 4000 yard passer

That’s what Lions’ fan would tout.
