It's sealed but anything is possible I guess. When I saw that black envelope in my box I figured it would be something so big that I could have maybe retired lol

It's a simple silver sticker holding the folded-over edge closed. Nothing really great about it, but you cannot see inside of it.

Mine was the /77. Unfortunately these look like the 1st Appearances, i.e., a card that should have been in Annual. The comic covers are thick, but yeah, unless you hit something low-numbered or a notable issue, I don't see these fetching much.

I bust it and got the following card:

Comic covers numbered to 49

Yeah… the cover cards look pretty underwhelming. I guess the low numbered issues and keys like Avengers 4 would be decent hits but overall not sure why they are wrapping them in packs? It does seem like a huge fake out on UD’s part for those who think they’ve hit big. It’s like UD is trolling at this point.

I would think it could be as early as first week of April. Lately the ePack sets have been hitting pretty close to a month after hobby release. They tend to not post news about a new ePack release until the day before though.

Seems like most people are probably just opening them, but I did see a listing of 2 black packs up on ebay. That makes sense you cant see through them. Being a skeptical person I probably wont trust them anyway, since who knows what people can do with the sticker or putting the packs under some blacklight/strange lighting.

On one hand it's a pretty cool concept, and makes the lowest issues highly desirable. On the other hand, I feel like these covers have been used a billion times since 1963 on various things, including cards before. Like the Avengers #1 would be neat being 1/1....but how many times have we seen this cover image by now (?!)

With the progressive numbering of the issue #'s, it's kind of deceptive...most of these comic covers are all the higher issues, up there in the #/60's-/100's. For some reason UD really messed up with the set ordering and even missing some issue numbers if you check the checklist (how could they even do that since they are just reprinting comic covers onto an insert? Not like it's comic clippings where its understandable if some are missing). Since the checklist is kind of messed up, and I dont want to add up every serial number manually, just assuming it goes from 1-108 consecutively, that would be 5886 total comic cover cards (approximate since checklist messed up). Only 55 of these are of the issues 1-10. This means given a random black pack, your chances of pulling a comic cover 1 through 10 are only about 1%. Very bad odds.

Blue and Burgandy are #'d so they should count as box hits.

ah ok thanks. I assumed you got a numbered in each box plus one of these as hits. as per cardboard connection.

1 Hit (Sketch, Premium Technology, Comic Clipping Memorabilia, Jambalaya, or Artist Autograph

Possible they lump the color parallels into ‘premium technology’, since that’s sort of a vague term? Just guessing

Those bottom hits are 1 per case on average

I have seen multiple cases with multiple of those

Guessing 12 box case. Even though there are 6 box inners

No word on epacks yet.

The serial numbered cards do not count as box hits

The one I ended up breaking (couple boxes at a time) had 2 of everything, sans the sketch, there was only one. (also 2 Comic Covers -- those DO count as a hit)

Iron man jambalaya sold for 1000

Now it’s probably 400-500 dollar card in a few months

But still lots of big hits coming out of a product that has hardly been opened yet

I buy a lot from Dave adams so you get deals the more you buy

Price is down to 300. Would like to see 250

But maybe e pack could be 20 a pack ?

What generally happens to the value of sealed physical wax after the product hits epack ? Would you expect sealed physical hobby boxes to go up, down, or around the same ?

Up. Physical boxes become more rare. UD doesn't seem to distribute a lot of hobby boxes. Epack seems to be their primary method of selling Marvel cards.

Yes, this product shouldn't be priced lower than mid-tier baseball products. The nominal price is debatable. The relative price shouldn't be. Topps pumps out a bunch low quality and low value products a year. Upper Deck has a few Marvel comic releases a year.

The base set at the very least goes for something, compared to sports.

But man..at 300-400 a box, it is almost a sure thing here to be losing. It seemed like with spidey and x-men metal people were pulling green pmgs here and there and selling them for thousands, and with this set Im seeing fewer big cards like that sold..but again maybe not a lot of wax is being opened. Or maybe it's that there's only 50*10=500 emerald medallions vs 200*10 = 2000 green pmgs.
I feel you, Dyna. The prices of hobby boxes are based on the group-breaking model. Maybe this release is missing a big chase card. But that probably means it would be more expensive if it did.

Blaster boxes have shown up at Walmart.com with a $34.98 price, even more expensive than Target’s already inflated price of $29.99.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/1996541950

Also, blasters at Target are out of stock.

They are also on the UD Store at $35 whereas Wanda and FWS are still $30 there. Wonder if the ones ordered through Walmart are fulfilled through UD Store as a 3rd party vendor?

Just pulled this huge Thanos checkmate Jason Juta auto /25 from my case of Marvel Fleer Ultra Avengers and look at the back of the card….ouch. Sorry for the sideways pic.

*EDIT* upon further inspection, I actually pulled another Jason Juta auto from my case and I noticed the autograph didn’t match at all so I was looking at other auto‘s on eBay and I believe this Thanos autograph is actually from Gilberto Martiniano and not Juta. Weird. I guess they labeled it wrong on the back of the card.

Yeah it appears to have burn marks as well as peeling, another long mark towards the top….it’s just a mess.

While I've caved and bought a few of the blasters, I'm glad I haven't caved and bought any hobby boxes out of fear of having to get cards replaced.

I've no faith in UD replacing any hits with cards of equal+ value.. If they replace anything at all these days. "It'll grade a 7, it's fine."
