Sexton is awesome?? That's not what Cavs fans have been saying all year... And it's not so much about losing him, it's about replacing him with almost the same player. If he's so bad, why would you want another version of him?
But thanks for the belittling reply when I wasn't talking about money at all, just playing style.

No that it matters now but I’d bet a lot of money that Rubio, who is an UFA, comes back to Cleveland at the end of the year

He loves it here

He was injury salary filler

This is a grand slam deal

Hence my confusion

This trade is a home run
Agreed, home run for Cavs if Levert stays healthy. Under contract for 2 years, eligible for an extension. Rubio can re-sign in Cleveland next year if he chooses to do so. Sexton knows he wasn’t going to get max money and is now a S&T candidate or who knows maybe Cleveland makes all these guys work and Sexton stays and becomes microwave scorer off the bench. Future is bright.

Levert is someone who has always wanted to be the man. So you're going to be getting rid of a guy who didn't want to be a sixth man and replacing him with a guy who definitely won't... Just seems weird. Maybe you guys haven't watched him play and that's why you're excited. Hopefully he doesn't stunt your offense when trying to be a hero with other options available.

He’s not coming into Cleveland the man and he knows that. He’s a secondary ball handler that can score. He can even run the offense a little if they stagger him and Garland.

Cavs just became a serious threat in the playoffs

Outside of Bogi there isn't a SG available that isn't a hero ball player/ potentially Smart maybe either in free agency or in the trade market. Levert makes sense in that aspect. He's the cheapest of the available options.

The Hawks aren't trading Bogi for picks and the Celtics aren't trading Smart likely for picks so there you go?

Ball hog. Not a team player. Seems to have potential to ruin the chemistry the Cavs have developed. Maybe he’ll change though.

Someone should try to get Okeke from Orlando. Decent scorer and a good team player who's in a bench role now but could flourish with more minutes/a starting spot.

I think he fits the Cavs perfectly and will add much needed depth. And on top of it all, they kept Sexton, so they potentially can pick up another player.

The Cavs offense when garland isn’t on the floor is g league level bad since Rubio went down.

Rondo is good as a bench coach and that’s it

Prior to this trade the Cavs starting Shooting Guard is Isaac Okoro. He averages 9.2 PPG, 3.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists in 29 minutes.

That's just not enough production.

Shoot. NBA just called off the rest of the season and gave the Cavs the title.

On to next year.

Whoops...

Sorry guys. Can't be excited about your team making a trade because it might upset people.

Maybe we should be talking about all the other trades going down today????

Better yet, let's just carry on talking about whether or not LeBron is as good as MJ.

Seems like a great trade for Cleveland. They definitely could make some noise in the playoffs if this pans out.

I'm more excited that LeVert is teammates with Jarrett Allen again. Cavs have really benefitted from the James Harden trade to the Nets.

This is the best thing I've read today

Of course it comes from the person it came from.

Okoro also only takes 7 shots a game and has half the usage rate that LeVert does.

Maybe he can be something he hasn’t in Indy.

Okoro only takes 7 shots a game because he can't make his own shot.

Defenses leave him open from 3 point range and he still only makes 30%. We're talking wide open 3's.

Levert doesn't quite have the efficiency I want, but at least he can create his own shot: He scored 42 his last game and added 8 assists. If you've watched the Cavs play without Garland, they have no shot creators.

It's an offensive upgrade and it cost relatively little.

Hate to break it to you, but LeVert makes only 31.6% of his wide open threes.

Again, maybe he can be different with Cleveland. Will be interesting to see how well he takes a lesser role. Don’t think you want him having the highest usage rate on the team.

Well, then he makes a higher % of contested 3's because his 3 pt Shooting % is higher than that.

Regardless, it's not just about 3s. It's about being able to create shots, which Okoro can't do. We're 4 mins into the Indiana game and the score is Pacer 9 Cavs 1. Okoro is 0-2 shooting. The offense is terribly stagnant.
