There’s 8 combos for the duals.

Parallels are:
Purple – /10
Gold – /5
Galactic Black – 1/1
Imperial Red – 1/1
Rebel Alliance Orange – 1/1

Base is /?

The parallels alone account for 18 cards x 8 subjects that’s 144 cards. They need 300 total since there’s 3 per box.

So that means 156 additional required cards. 156/8=~20.

Prior base duals were /25.

Only 3 duals have big names this year:
DA-FD Driver / Ford
DA-RD Ridley / Driver
DA-RW Williams / Ridley

Other 5 * 25 base gets 125. 26 needed among the 3 remaining so likely the Ridley/Williams will be /25 and idk where they make up the other 1 card from.

31 needed assuming the lesser 5 have /25 base like previous years. Maybe they have /25 for both Ridley duals and they hold back several of each for redemptions that fall through, who knows.
Anyway it would mean about 3 in 4 cases have a "good" dual I think, assuming no cases get two of them.

I agree with this, it may not last but I think you'll see the first few Portman's going for around 5k when they hit ebay.

Yep! The high speculations are warranted with today's insane market. My guess is $2,500 out of the gate for the most common auto.

I'm just tired of "Hayden Christiansen will NEVER sign because he hate SW" then "omg he's signing, here's top dollar" then he's in every product. I don't think there's any actual refusal to make money signing your name, I just think Topps knows that a new signer carries a premium and moves a product AND they know how to nickel and dime variants across products first name vs full name, persona (vader vs anakin), etc.

If Portman actually refused to sign SW on principal, what was up with her signing for SWAU? Topps has to release 20 sets a year for eternity, I'm personally surprised and pleased that both Clarke and Portman are in one product.

If anyone has a good reason to just be completely done with star wars it's Kelly Marie Tran and she's even in this stellar release.

I’m sure they will sign again. But always a chance they will not

Topps Star Wars has a bright future

Dozens of new shows coming in next decade
Plus topps losing baseball

There will be a ton coming. Maybe topps won’t have to chase Pedro Sam and Portman in future

I just can't do it. The entire trading card market is so overheated I have been relegated to Topps' print to order products for the past two years.

You also have to consider that when I was a kid it seemed possible to get all the big names from star wars. And so I wanted them. Then the prequels came out and, while much more star studded, I still thought it would be possible. After the SW Story movies and the names that appeared in the sequels and the endless shows coming up, no way. Not gonna happen. So I feel less pressured to absolutely must buy the portman now and hopefully this rampant expansion means that there are fewer completests out there and we can get the cards we want. I think I would pay a premium for Benicio but that's it. Otherwise this feels like the wrong time to be putting up drug deal money on star wars autos.

Tell ya one thing, I hope the somehow prevented the clipping on the autos hitting dark areas on these cards:

Just a matter of which ones were held back vs packed out I guess...that's well over 300 duals. Still good news.

Break 1 with Layton - 2 random spots... got:

Magistrate Morgan Elsbeth 19/40 (Don't have her sig. - she was the asian lady in Mando that fought with the Beskar Spear) - Psyched about that....

..and...

Qi'ra 3/25!!!! Don't have Ms. Clarke's sig to date, but now I do!

Happy with those results!

I have two more in the next one as well - I'll post those results as well.

Well I didn’t do great in my break. Had 4 spots and got Insanto, Weathers, Varnado and Kellerman. 4 shots gave me pretty good odds at a top 10 card but dem da breaks… at least all are new autos for me!

After watching the break, I do think it’s quite disappointing. I hope to pick up a Dawson, Portman and Clarke but the card design really contributed to some sloppy sigs. I don’t dig a lot of the photo selections and not sure I want the main Daisy to be Dark Rey. Seems like it would have been a nice opportunity for a Rey Skywalker….

Rey/Lando dual was hit in the break. Weird combo if you ask me…

I did two spots with the first Layton Break and hit Ford and Sedaris. I’ll take it!!! Also, congrats to the person who hit the Luke jumbo sketch. It’s the greatest sketch I’ve ever seen.

Any guesses what Clarke goes for?

I know she did at least 1 con and some send-in signings as well and her recent signed comic books are like $20ish

But again it’s her first licensed Star Wars card so that’s a big factor for the card world.
