I’m right. Nothing will happened, it’s why the Russian and Chinese hack our systems. We our too comfortable. I work in a very similar environment. My boss and I chatted, this has to do with the overall cyber security infrastructure. Major security breaches aka solar winds. When you create a product, that claims to offer all the bells and whistle. Why worry ! We our so confident, that our product will protect your network. They sit back and relax. When, you do that. There is always a person or group one step ahead.

Here we go with the I talked with my boss again. I would be deeply concerned if you were in charge of my network.

There is absolutely no way a non bot will ever get anything if someone got 4100 hangers individually. RIP

Well, the bright side is that I'm saving money not buying up any available retail!

I guess this guy has it in with the vendor. Looks like Walmart doesn't care.

Seeing those pictures just pisses me off to no end, the level of greed and corruption in this hobby currently disgusts me.

BBases31 sounds like a bot bois. Plain and simple.

Just to clarify. If botbois were to send in one order of 3/6/12 (whatever max limit online is), I don’t think anyone would have a problem with a bot. It just so happens that the bot bois are also using proxies and other shenanigans to spoof accounts/addresses etc, circumventing the 1 order per account (where everyone else gets their 2nd cancelled).

I’m sure there are a few people who have bots who don’t try to order 100 hangers each alert. I have 0 problems with them. I have 0 problems with someone going and getting 1 qty/3 qty at Targets in person.

I dislike the "bot people" as much as anyone here. I just don't think they're doing anything wrong. Anywhere you have easy, essentially risk free money to be legally made, you're going to have a scramble between a TON of people to think of the best way to get the piece of that pie. That's capitalism. It's legal and no one is being cheated by what they do. And no, just because you can't buy a box for 1/4 of market value straight from Walmart does not mean you are being cheated.

So skirting limits just because you can isn't being cheated? Sorry, I disagree

You not being able to buy a box of cards at 25% of market value from a retailer is not being "cheated", no.

It's legal and no one is being harmed. It's not a harm to not be able to buy what is essentially a piece of entertainment at an under market price. It's not food, it's not an essential good. You are more than welcome to pay fair market price for the same box.

I'm trying to think on the "site rules" thing. Where is the line drawn on what's an acceptable site or store rule to not follow? Every single line of Terms of Service must be followed to the T or you're being unethical? I have no idea what's in there but considering most are the length of a book I'd imagine there's some silly rules in there that no one would consider unethical if broken

Target for examples intention is for one person not to check out more than 1 time online, same as that is their intention in store.

They may or may not catch you in the store if you change your clothes 100 times and loop the line, but they’ve clearly stated their policy prohibits that. That’s the same thing as bypassing their security and checking out 100 times online. you are basically saying if they can’t catch you it’s fine to violate the policy.

You nailed it exactly. It's a policy, and they have banned accounts for breaking the policy. So how is that ethical breaking a companies policy. It's like saying the guys are okay going into the backroom dressed like the vendor to get the boxes to buy. Bot groups are cheating the system. BBase31's argument makes no sense.

Yeah I love it how bad boi cays it's not cheating when the bots get 1000s of orders on 1000s of accounts. Yet any time a normal user on Target.com is lucky enough to get a second order, which has happened to me exactly 1 time this entire year, it's immediately canceled so it can odds are go to a bot instead.

It ABSOLUTELY IS if the reason you're not able to is because others are cheating the system. This is something my parents taught me from the time I could understand language and I'm afraid for society if adults out in the world don't see that.

I'm all for capitalism done the right way. You wanna camp out at Target for 3 days before a drop..go for it. Before limits you wanna stay at Target all day and clear the shelf..go nuts. It's when you start doing things underhandedly and unfairly that I start having a problem with things. It's the scumbags that bribe vendors or employees..the ones who stab each other in the back and take product after promising to split, those who let their friends show up 10 minutes before Target and cut in line and yes Bots who skirt limits that I have a problem with.

No one is being cheated by what they do?!?! How is it not cheating when the bots can clear out an entire stock before a normal user can get 1 single order in? That's literally the definition of cheating. An unfair advantage that can't be beat by a normal buyer.

They were a normal buyer until they either purchased a top of the line bot or actually built one themselves. Any single person is/was more than able to either learn over time how to develop a program or just purchase one. Do some people have excess money that others dont? Sure....... Are some people phenomenal with computers and/or have degrees in a tech field such that they could build their own? Sure.................. Life isn't necessarily fair, people do the best they can do with what they have.

Based on the sheer amount of money on the table it seems like anyone serious about this would/should do whatever they can to take out a loan and pay the whatever 5,8,10k cost to get the program and fastest internet speed known to man. Between cards, video game consoles, whatever else I can't imagine the return wouldn't pay huge dividends within just 4-5 months

These bots on average were not normal buyers of sports cards. Realistically how many bots user were buying sports cards as a normal user before Covid hit? 1-2% of people in the hobby? I'm sure the discord monitor people are a higher percentage than that.

At the end of FOTL and hobby on Panini store at MSRP people complained that bots were taking it over. In 2+ years, including all the ones people were mad about at the end, there was a total of 1 FOTL or online exclusive I wasn't able to buy as a normal user from Panini store. It was 2017-18 Flawless Basketball FOTL. That product only had 200 boxes. I was even able to buy 2018-19 Flawless FOTL. Since a year ago Im pretty sure there has not been a single card box/pack worth it at MSRP I have been able to buy from Panini store. Not a single one. It's not like Im the only person. The amount of normal users that have been able to buy any of the few boxes or packs Panini store has had for sale at MSRP the last year has gotta be less than 5% of each product. Probably the only hope for normal users like myself, outside of Panini selling 1000s of membership plans to buy cards, is a vigilante to go after the bots.

It's easy to blame the bots (and its a HUGE problem), but the greed from the public will not change if bots were eliminated. I've seem people go into meijer and clean out the card section within 5 minutes also.

Kinda hard to compare now when every Target was doing limits, virtually every Meijer, and a good portion of Walmarts. On top of that, I'm sure most Walmarts that everything makes it on to the shelves is a minimum 3 or 4 way split of almost every week under $1,000 worth of sports cards.
