Yeah. In a normal market and normal year, they sell a TON of those sets at the all star game. Of the many overpriced ASG merch, that $50 factory set is one of the better deals. And then you factor in booth giveaway bonuses?!

Just noticed on one of the pictures of the factory sets on ebay, that on the front flap, there are two other things noted on the box:

The oval in the middle seems to start off "1 in every 3 sets..."; is this where the one seller got his info about parallels being 1 in 3 sets? And the info on the right side is maybe talking about the retail foilboards?

For the people who bought sets today, can you take better pictures of that front flap?

Interestingly online the Walmart sets are blue, and don’t seem to include these variations

These are the standard retail factory sets that have been listed on pre-sale for a while. I have not seen these green sets listed anywhere except on eBay.

I asked one of the sellers for a pic of the flap so we'll see if we get one today

At the moment sold out. Not sure the product ever was live yet but should be sometime this week. Limit of 4 sets per transaction. I thought there were higher limits last year for the sets. Also, does not state online exclusive so maybe find these in physical stores too.

Last year had a limit of 5 sets per transaction, but they were up long enough for you to at least do it a couple of times. Given how crazy 2020 has been, it wouldn't shock me if we don't get that luxury this yr.

The Chrome Robert variation in that target link looks good.

Default 2020 Topps Factory Set Thread

Got better pics and looks like there are indeed retail foilboards

And it says 1 in every 3 is a complete set parallel but it’s not clear if the golden stars are the only parallel or if there are different versions.

Hard to say but quite possibly. Target link that's up is for a purple set with 1 chrome variation.

With the foilboards #/264 should be a PR of 37,000 green sets. About 12,000 parallel sets, which seems like a lot.

Can someone open a hobby set and show pics of the foilboards and if the serial numbering is different than /264?

If they are the same, just spread out between hobby and retail, that will be a huge LOL at those who paid $100 for a hobby set just for those.

The fact is, there will be PLENTY of factory sets to go around. They have ramped up production and created new variations. We just all need to know what is what so we can prioritize. But there will be plenty.

I'll be annoyed if that's the case for hobby bc I've got a bunch pre-ordered. It's not the end of the world - will just need to pivot.

I am leaning towards thinking it may be that way. Higher print run, and if they were different I would think they would have called them something else. You can't call them both the same thing.

what a kick in the pants for Hobby Set buyers.

logic doesn't come into play with tOpps, but to think that they said 'lets give Retail the chance to pull 705 #d cards and just stick to 5 max for Hobby' is galling.

and at a cheaper price point. (not factoring in at-cost preorders)

disgusting.

Topps has been doing this all year with retail exclusives. I think it is their way to get back at the run away train that hobby prices have become.
