You must truly have no idea how good Acuna is to make this statement. Robert has a lot to prove to be considered equally as if not better than Acuna. The quality of pitching between AAA and the bigs is much larger than most people realize.

Not saying it can't/won't happen...just saying it has to happen before any conversation includes Robert anywhere near Acuna's level.

So is the Topps Now base card at 9.99 generally considered a buy?

I think this guy is going to be a MONSTER.

What makes it so impressive was how he was able to put that swing on a 1st pitch curve in his first MLB at bat. If you can't get the FB by him (except up like everyone) and he won't bail on the breaking stuff. Oh God he's gonna be a tough out.

Watch todays game, my guess is FB up (if pitcher's locating) and breaking stuff a ball or two off the plate all game long.

edit: I noticed Dobnak's pitching for Twins, he's gonna throw bowling ball sinkers all day...forget anything up in the zone. Sinkers all day and maybe a couple crappy sliders well off the plate (like two/three balls off the plate, unless he misses). That being said another good crafty pitcher for LR to see early in the year and another opportunity for us to see how he adjusts early in his career. Remember when evaluating rookies, ALL of them have WORLD CLASS TALENT, not all of them can make the adjustments needed to thrive. Be well everyone.

I think you’ll still be able to get one in 2 yrs for $10. The Soto I have is still the same price it was in 2018 from Topps. I would go after a TBT before Topps now.

What do you consider the definitive Luis Robert card to get? What’s the equivalent of the Mike Trout 2011 Topps Update? Is it the 2018 Bowman Chrome Refractor? I really like the Mega Box version of that card. I pulled a /50 Prizm Auto a couple weeks ago. I’m looking at what is great Bowman or Topps card to get next.

Update Trout is a Rc card. The 2018 Bowman Robert cards are prospect cards. Not Rc. 2020 Finest Flashbacks is currently his best base Rc card. Topps Sapphire and Transcendent will be out later this yr which will likely rank higher than Flashbacks.

He’s been in 4 so far. All are more expensive than when they came out. I was referring to future releases. I personally prefer the TBT over the Now releases because the designs are unique. Typically you can pickup Robert around $10 on eBay when the Topps buying window is still open.

It's from a Walgreens hanger (yellow parallel)
Still have the original box with it

I guess in general too, with sealed packs showing stuff like this, what kind, if any premium would it add? I have 2019 Heritage High with Alonso showing, Eloy showing, Vlad Jr showing, and Tatis showing.
