Dug up a cool old card from the 2013 Icons set, which contains a match worn swatch and a photo of Leo celebrating his goal in the 2011 CL final. Vidic still can’t believe what happened haha.

The whole performance (including a Final record 10 dribbles) was breathtaking and is ranked by Squawka as the best ever:

Fun clip of his idol - Enzo Francescoli (Zidane named his son Enzo) The similarities in their playing style are uncanny, imagine being good enough to pick a player to become when still a kid and then making it as an improved version of them, representing some of the biggest clubs in football and Captaining your nation to a World cup final.

Side note - From the UK and have found lots of great info here on US sports through the years but I find that the Soccer section can have some dubious info and opinions.

Until I actually opened a few boxes of Mega Cracks myself, I never understood why they always graded so poorly. They are without a doubt the lowest quality trading cards I have ever handled. They come out of the packs in terrible condition, and the card stock is so flimsy and of such poor quality, that you literally damage the cards simply inserting them into penny sleeves. To get a PSA 9 is quite the accomplishment. Awesome stash there Khal!!

Thank you. I have the whole run minus the 2004, which is obviously a big hurdle. With how things are going, I figure I will get them back from PSA in late 2022.

Congrats on the Messi. It appears that everything pre 2014 is extremely difficult to PSA gem mint, the 2010 World Cup may be the most difficult.

If you have one available I'm looking to trade into it with a 2010 Ronaldo PSA 10.

I traded a WNBA Prizm Premium box to jjeanius for it. Wish I had another! Definitely slept on this set when it first became popular. Very nice in hand.

I just read the latest in the U.K. Sun (

) on Messi's contract negotiations. It would appear that they are close to signing a deal for two more years at Barca, and then playing his last two years (2023-25) for Inter Miami in the U.S. Messi has always said he wants to experience living in the U.S. so it all kind of fits. Supposedly a big pay cut at Barca, and then a $145mm two year deal at Miami.

Yup. The Sun is usually garbage but that’s looking most likely. Will allow Barca to defer money he’s owed.

Makes the most sense for his family to stay in Barcelona.

What does this even mean? Miami is a wonderful city vs LA which is terrible and much cheaper than NYC tax-wise and New York has an awful crime problem currently.
