I think this draft hurt you guys. Morant and JJJ are building blocks, and couple with whatever they can get for Conley, the Grizzlies might be a decent team when the pick becomes unprotected.

Something tells me Griffin is gonna ask for the farm on AD too. If not, he'll ride it out hoping he sees the potential in Zion.

after what happened at the end of last season, it is shocking to me that anyone thinks there is even a small chance that AD plays another game as a Pelican.

Hard to figure out how anything is going to go down right now. A lot of change is coming. But you have to think Zion to New Orleans is a guarantee. And that's not good.

Durant to New Orleans

Jrue
Durant
Davis
Zion

That’s pretty good.

Just trade everyone else to clear space

You’re welcome David Griffin

Young teams aren't going to make the playoffs in the Western Conference in 2 years.

Is there some irony to the fact that him dogging it all season actually increased the odds that the Pelicans got the number one overall pick, therefore decreasing the odds that another team would land it an have an easier time trading for him?

Top of my head, the best offers for AD could be:

Lakers: Kuzma, Ball, Ingram, Hart, #4 pick, future pick
Celtics: Tatum, Brown, Smart, Memphis pick, future pick

I still think the Celtics offer is a little better. But I don't think it'll be enough.

How old do you think Denver is exactly?

The word you want is inexperienced

Decent team doesn't mean playoffs. They could be close to 40 wins and pick 12 or something like that.

OG Count...you nailed it.

Don't think it's nearly as bad as people are making it out to be. AD showed that there can be huge money flowing into a Pels prospect. His stuff was as high if not a bit higher than Kyrie out the gate, and key rc's reached some pretty astronomical numbers 2 seasons ago.

It depends on your perspective. I'm a fan who doesn't want AD in Boston. I want them to build through Tatum, Brown and continue to draft. They need to develop their own system and stop chasing these fireworks. I'd love to see them package picks 14, 20 & 22 to move up to the 8-11 range this year, or move some of those picks to teams for future picks.

Has to be one of the worst landing spots for Zion. Will be interesting to see what happens with the 3 and 4 picks. I would be surprised if both arent dangled in potential trades.

You're forgetting Eastern Conference vs Western Conference, and also giving AD exactly what he wants vs telling him to pound sand and have fun in Boston. Ingram has the blood clot issue which is either minor or if he has it again could end his career.

I love the bipolar people in this thread:

first few pages: "the NBA is rigging this so LA and the Knicks get picks 1-2!!!!"
Last few pages: "the NBA sucks!!! this is terrible for the hobby" Zion's cards won't be worth anything!!!!!

Can we put the "rigging" argument to bed now?

As much as it doesn’t make sense, the Lakers getting AD now with them offering up the 4 in a package of the young guys is a lot more enticing. Probably allows the Lakers to keep Kuzma as well. Pelicans rebuild with nobody older than 24, with a ton of talent and potential. AD is not playing in NO again period, NO WAY!!!

I think it's pretty likely the draft was rigged in some of the previous years, like with Ewing and probably Rose. Maybe not so much anymore after Silver replaced Stern.

That would be a horrific trade for Boston.

It’s clearly based on Kyrie being back

Davis, Kyrie, Hayward, Horford and whatever else they have left

So are Suns FO and Suns fans jumping off bridges right now? Go from a top 3 player to pick 6 in a draft that won't probably even have 5 top players to draft?

So now would AD reconsider staying in NO with Zion there and try to make them a contender?

Yep. And if you have a guarantee from AD, you do it. But it all depends on Kyrie and his flat earth theories.

Sorry yeah that's a better word inexperienced, relying on JJJ who played 1/2 a season and Ja Morant/RJ Barrett.
