I can't see it getting much lower than that either but I wasn't sure. I bought mine last year at a normal price of $750.00 a couple weeks before release, so I'm kind of surprised they have it marked right now at like $890

Nope. Probably stay the same for a long time though.

The sell sheet doesn't really specify that the rookie autos will be "on card" like they have stated in years past, something we should be worried about, or just an oversight on Topps part? Also, the sell sheet states that it include 2 autos, for you guys that bought last year, was it 2 rookie on card autos per box?

Yea, Topps Chrome has always been two autos per box. The rookie autos appear to be on card in the sell sheet, and they may just be assuming that people know they will be on card at this point, as the sell sheet isn't meant initially for the general public.

"Chrome" autos, whether Bowman or Topps, have been on card for a while now, I doubt they would change that, but obviously things can change.

Every year as of late I've been saying it & buying nothing but Update & Bowman Draft.

Topps Chrome seems to be disappointing year after year, and now with Topps many other products, I may be able to pass Topps Chrome.

Bowman Chrome actually seems to be the better product this year.

Topps Chrome is really nice you get a nice looking rookie autograph that's everybit as nice as bowman chrome and I think Topps Chrome looks nicer then bowman chrome and provides a lot better value

Doesn't a player have to have appeared in the big leagues to get a Topps Chrome card?

I'd love to hear how you think Bowman Chrome will be better than Topps Chrome.

That is a good question. Last year it was two rookie autos per a box. Which means any other auto you got was just a bonus and did not count towards the two. I pulled a Santana jumbo patch auto /10 and the box still contained my two RC autos in 2013. It seems you max out at two this year regardless.

Really? Bowman Chrome? Please explain because I think most everyone assumes Bowman Chrome will be one of the worst products produced this year. I would love to hear why you think Bowman Chrome (which has been a horrible product the past few years) will be better than Topps Chrome (which is consistently one of the better products...although 2013 wasn't so good with all the redemptions).

After last year's release I don't think 2014 will be incredible or anything but I'm sure it will be fun and have good value. Just as long as they don't make 50% of the autos redemption cards.

Guys, no, please don't goad Ben into responding to his post. Just leave it as it is, or this thread about one of the best products of the year will go down in flames.

I got bent over on 3 cases of 2013 Topps Chrome, like, still using that 55-gallon tub of lube I bought from Amazon to help with the bowel movements bent over, which means I will probably stay away from 2014 Chrome Baseball. However, that did not stop me from pre-ordering two cases of 2014 Chrome Football (thanks AJ).

The thing about topps chrome is that the rookies actually have to be up and (i think)
\have some kind of MLB service before the rc auto is in the product.

So if a guy comes up tomorrow and is amazing for the next 2 months.
you can pretty much bank on them having to scramble and there being a redemption for that guy.

The alternative would be to leave guys like Yasiel Puig out.
Which doesnt exactly thrill people either.

theres a lot of things about redemptions that suck.

thats really a danged if you do, danged if you dont, No win situation.

I agree it is a good thing that at least they are included in the checklist where as they couldn't if they didn't make them a redemption card but I still dislike pulling them.

I was simply stating that there will probably be tons of redemption cards again like last year. I hope not but as you said, many of the names couldn't be included without them.

I couldn't care less about how this does on resale. I just hope Rafael Montero has a RC and is on the auto checklist.

With Tavares being called up in late May, do you believe Topps can get cards made in time to get them signed and ready for the August pack out? Or are we looking at probably a redemption? Also, I was looking back at the 2013 Topps Chrome thread and when the product released, it seemed like everyone was so disappointed with all the redemptions and thought the product was a bust. But months later it seems the majority of the people have nothing but positive things to say about 2013 Chrome. And as much crap as we give Topps (99% of it is deserved), can you imagine having a rookie get called up 2 to 3 months prior to a product being released, having to print his card, and then find some time for the kid to sign (he just got called up to the show! Signing some cards would be last on my list of priorities, and never mind how many different directions he is being pulled in by different media outlets taking up most of his free time.) So as much as I hate redemptions, but I guess I get it in this situation.

I might bump Castellanos and Ventura up to the "bigger names" list. Schoop has bigger name skill, however trying to predict how his career develops has been a seriously head scratching debate.

I was actually just basing the players based on how well they sell. I'm putting players who's base autos could possibly sell for over $40. Ventura, Castellanos and Schoop generally all sell for under $25.
