Right-hander Dylan Cease and the Toronto Blue Jays are in agreement on a seven-year, $210 million contract, pending a physical, sources tell ESPN. The defending American League champions get one of the best arms on the free agent market.

I love this. Was really hoping the Jays doubled down on their awesome season. Just like that, they've addressed one of their biggest needs

Not surprising since they did the same for Santander. How did that work out for the Blue Jays last year? I wonder what this means for Bo.

Why have just one Jose Berrios when you could have … two?

And yeah I know the Baseball Card experts don’t card about either of those 2 pitchers, or Sonny Gray either, but who knew that the best stat for a big payday was the one labeled “G”

Exactly......Cease isn't actually all that good.....only one year with a ERA+ above 120....and a 8.74 career postseason ERA.

If you're going to hand out $210 million for seven years, you could do a LOT better.

What would be the benefit for Rendon? To be able to stop pretending that he likes baseball and that he wants to play it? Can’t he just IL his way through the 2026 season and earn his full amount?

Crazy crazy crazy deal for a guy with a north 5 era in the mlb. I know he dealt in the KBO last year but 30 mil over 3 years. Wow

Yeah my son was beyond himself last night when he saw this deal. And they still haven't signed their best average/contact hitter, Bo Bichette.

Parent company is making money hand over fist...should be lots of cashola to sign Bo. Getting close to an $300 mil expense tho.
