Charles Barkley was really good and has higher Box +/-, Win Shares, and PER than Hakeem. If you prefer the eye test, then Barkley was the only guy who really answered the bell against MJ in the Finals (save for maybe Gary Payton after that series was a wrap). He was way more efficient than Hakeem on offense, but Hakeem was so much better at defense than Barkley that I put Hakeem slightly ahead. But go check out how good Charles Barkley was.

Unc Vee told me to keep diamond handing my Dreamshakes based on his wealthy African Prince development prophecy, and I still have full trust in the process.

All it takes is one Orange Man 20 billion dollar (approx. 40,000,000,000,000,0000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 nairas) Nigerian bailout, and early retirement shall be ours.

Chuck was a pretty dynamic player. He had to be because he was undersized for his position.

He was also controversial in the 90s -- he infamously had a Nike commercial where he said he's not a role model. He got into bar fights and often spoke his mind.

Nobody who's not in the top 10 or 15 Goat discussion should be worth more than someone who is in the discussion and in the same set. Hakeem even has all of the players going to him for lessons like Lebron Kobe Giannis and Victor and others. I get popularity wins, and the media loves Barkley.

Another factor is that the Barkley card is more condition sensitive than the Hakeem, although similar quantities have been graded, there are about 100 less barkleys in PSA 10 ( about 250 vs. 350 )
This............look at PSA 10's of Moore and Jeff Malone......add in popularity with Chuck being on TV and you have the reasons.

No I don't think you do or else you wouldn't have made this thread. Wait until you find out how much Jason Williams cards sell for.

Was thinking Jason Williams would be a much better premise for this thread. The gap between Dream and Chuck isn't nearly big enough to be threadworthy.

It's not. Cards are a form of art. People don't buy art simply because the artist was the most technically skilled, or the subject matter ideal. Style is a significant part of the package. Same with music or any artform. It's subjective.

This is the reason Lil Yatchy has a 5x platinum song and multiple gold records

Just listening to one of his songs would give any normal person brain damage. If you could even call it a song

Basketball is much more personality focused than baseball.

This. Both first ballot HOFers with amazing careers. People in here acting like it's Shaq and Kwame Brown.

Barkley was extremely popular where as Hakeem was not. Kind of like why Tim Duncan’s cards are not worth what Kobe’s are…..
