Well I said in the Brewer thread they went 4/25 RISP these 3 games and were about to win the series living or dying by the home run. Well a home run killed them, congrats Mets.

I thought they were losing 2-0. I had no faith in Pete that at bat. Couldn't be happier to be wrong.

Senga getting the nod for Game 1?
This week has been a crazy whirlwind for the Mets. What's next, Wright is coming back for 2025?

That said, he is easily the best signer for the Mets overall - seemingly every game he signs for 20 minutes or so.

Hopefully his Mets autograph won’t be too expensive. I can see myself picking up a couple.

So they're not as good as they looked while playing CWS, COL, and WAS, but probably not as bad as they look playing PHI and ATL.

I can't believe Pete Alonso has opted out of his contract. I thought he was forever loyal to the Mets.

Congrats to the Mets! You guys really stayed true to form this season, and closed it out in the most Mets way possible. There's something to be said for knowing who you are and sticking with it!

The Mets have plenty of money. Cohen doesn't really have a limit its more who he wants to give the money to. They got Marte coming off the books, that's another 20M. It comes down to do they want Pete because they can give the most money to whoever they want.

Shocking that they thought they could be successful with a rotation led by Senga and Manaea, both of whom are #3/4 starters at best.
Neither of them would even make the Dodgers rotation..... |

Mets caught lightning in a bottle with Manea and Severino in 2024, the odds of reclamation projects working out like that aren't great.

As a fan of baseball in general, a post season without Lindor, Soto, and Alonso is a shame

Weird argument. That's like looking at someone's expected slugging over their actual slugging.
Senga was not the Mets problem when he pitched.

But yes....the problem wasn't Senga's pitching per se......it's the fact that he was the Mets #1 pitcher. On any other team, he's the #3 at best, and on a team like the Dodgers, he probably isn't even in the rotation. Stearns was extremely naive if he thought that the Mets could go anywhere with Senga/Manaea/Peterson as their top three starters. |
