Spot on. I was chatting with someone the other day and they said you should buy Ford. It’s cheap. Lol…..

I commented that it’s basically the same price that it was seven years ago.

I've always felt uncomfortable throwing hard-earned money into "unstable" markets (where economic outlook looks bleak).

With that said, I do actively contribute (biweekly) to the usual accounts: 529 accounts for kids, 17% (+5%) work retirement account (plus a vested pension plan) and small, spontaneous contributions (which have become more consistent) to Roth IRA/crypto accounts.

But recently, I decided to finally listen to Klha/jcardstore and make my first big boy move of the year (and in recent time). Sitting on a good amount of cash, and knowing that inflation is only eating it up despite getting 4-5% back (as well as time in market > hoarding cash), I used some of that cash to pick up a bunch of quantum computing shares (RGTI/QTBS/IONQ) and that move has NOT disappointed (yet)!

Missed out on the April lows (contemplated picking up a lot of SOFI/GOOG/NVDA at that time) and definitely regretted it. Didn't want to keep repeating that over and over. I fully understand that I can't time the market and that the market isn't always logical too.

Anyway, excited to be a lot more actively involved with ya'll. Took a minute though

OCGN having a great run this last week. Up another 19% today to $1.66/sh. Hopefully it keeps going!

Exited my position in those quantum computing stocks this AM (not at the peak, unfortunately, but at least better than EOD price). Realized a surprisingly nice gain for a short period of time (less than 2 weeks) but wish I heard about it weeks/months before as it's skyrocketed. Thanks Bay Area discord people!

Thinking to put the post-tax gains into my Roth IRA (haven't maxed out for the year) and re-up on them or go with my usual tech plays (GOOG/AAPL/MSFT or AMZN/NVDA/AMD/INTC). Does anyone do something similar or do ya'll mostly leave stuff untouched in your regular brokerage accounts?

On the flip side, my GOOG position took a beating today so I was red overall for the day haha.

Also, I'm starting to explore daytrading. Anyone have some reading material suggestions (books/sites/etc)? Also, is TradingView a good entry-level platform to use?

Daytrading, start with the option threads for reading, not necessarily a How to, but plenty of information in there. So many ways to day trade, key thing, don't over complicate it. I would start with YouTube, however be careful what person you watch/follow. I would recommend Chloe Trades (trades price action/trend (option contracts), she does scalping though, in and out of trades within an hour or less). Carmine Rosato is someone I watched a lot at first, he preaches the patience, taking good trades with A+ setups, not getting emotional, however he trades futures (different than options).

Don't know you level of daytrading/option knowledge. If you need Option intros/tutorials there is none better than project finance, options 101 videos.

I use my ROTH as my fun trading account. It’s a great way to buy/sell without worrying about taxes. I also max out my 401k and I have no kids so I can afford to have fun with it.

I saw a great meme online that I would post here if I knew how.

It was a circle, starting with Open AI spending money with Oracle, then Oracle spending money on Nviida, then Nvidia financing Open AI. It’s just a never ending circle of the same money that looks like tremendous growth. It’s all great until one of the big players stops the cap ex.

I haven't sold a thing, but I did hedge my accounts with vix calls

Yeah the how is it more expensive doesn’t make sense. But 74-79+% of their revenue is from vehicles…

I honestly can’t believe people are still talking about Tesla as if their cars and revenues are a driver of the stock price lol

You would think after a decade people would have figured it out by now

Most will never understand the market. The last 10 months of this thread is proof of that.

Might do well

EOD flow into mag 7 was as bearish as you can get yesterday

Awesome, I'll start watching Chloe Trades and Carmine Rosato on YouTube. I'll also frequent the options trading thread more as I learn more about the jargon/technicals (I appreciate you/Blazed for your daily/weekly posts on it btw).

My daytrading/option knowledge is very basic so I'll check out project finance too.

I really appreciate the time you took to share your recommendations.

Haha yeah, that's why I love my Roth accounts (don't have to worry about taxes in the future). Appreciate your response.

Thanks for the confirmation! Regarding finding a mentor and joining his/her group, how does one take steps towards that?

Good to know.

If I lose money on them, it will be made up from the equity continuing to roll. Fine by me. But I have a hunch I’ll recoup some money on these. Even a quick 5% drawdown would likely double them. Would love a 30 vix spike though. I still think the path is higher for Mag 7, but not a straight line.

Huge dissociation between your “understanding” and your posts here.

Opportunities abound right now, but will likely get better in the coming days. Cut CRWV and trimmed TSLA and PLTR yesterday morning. Added more FETH.

You’d be surprised how many people don’t even know how Tesla cars themselves work. I find it quite amusing.

Market looking to close out September strong. Tracking for the highest return since 2010. The historical worst month of the year. Must be so rough for the bears to strike out yet again.

Perma bears are just unable to see reality for what it is. They wishcast their bearishness on a market that has everything going for it.

Some of it is just their own failure, some of it is political brain rot.
