If you want it protected, you can have PSA authenticate the autograph and slab it through this option:
https://www.blowoutforums.com/showthread.php?t=1613833
However, if the signature is only on the back of the card, they'll put that one front because that's technically what you asked them to do, authenticate the auto.

Just one Dinosaurs sketch card slab back this week so far. But it’s a PSA 10, so that’s cool!

I got a couple of cool sketch cards back from PSA yesterday…

This amazing Ghost Rider sketch card by Jose Carlos Sanchez from the 2013 Marvel Retro set by Upper Deck came back as PSA 10 Gem Mint:

And this Mars Attacks cows sketch card by Vanessa Farano aka Banky is a fun one. I love that PSA put “cow abduction” in the description!

A closer look at this one that came back yesterday, and PSA accidentally identified the wrong artist on the label. Signature is Mark Marvida not Rusty Gilligan..

Just wondering, since I've never submitted any card for grading. Isn't part of the paperwork for submissions to include details like artist name if known? I can't imagine PSA having an authoritative listing of artist sigs, certainly not better than Rhinosgonecrazy.

TL;dr how can misidentification of the artist happen if the artist's name is listed in the paperwork?

I’m not sure what paperwork COMC sends (this was submitted through COMC). And I’ve done quite a few Dino sketches to PSA through COMC now and they have done a great job of identifying the artists. This is the first miss. For dinosaurs sketches that are unsigned… PSA won’t slab. So I think they have a pretty good take overall on the Dino artist list so far.

Incidentally, they already slabbed a Rusty Gilligan sketch for me and his signature is a distinct “Rusty.” So just a human error on this one. Now I just need to go through COMC for best way to correct. I don’t want a simple reslab, so there has to be some way for COMC to resubmit with the correct info.

For reference, I would encourage sending PSA a set checklist showing the artist was in the set (if you can find one). Otherwise try getting a letter from the artist verifying. I have been contacted by PSA a few times to verify if I was in a set a card was submitted for. I sent PSA a letter saying I was and sent them pics of the cards I submitted for those sets so they could have them for future reference and research. Just a thought.

That’s a good point. And if I was sending them these directly I would def include additional information. But when subbing to PSA through COMC I don’t believe there is an option to add additional details.

To their credit, PSA has been pretty accurate with the Dino sketches I have submitted so far. They even correctly identified Marvida and Gilligan on separate sketches in the past. I think last weeks mistake was just human error. It happens.

Here are the Marvida and Gilligab sketches they previously correctly identified. Art style is somewhat similar, I guess.

Only two Dino sketch slabs back this week but they both PSA 10ed so I’m not complaining!

I’ve also been picking up some cool Alien sketches on COMC just to see them slabbed. They marked this one “runner”… will be interesting to see how they label the other ones I submitted. I will post when received.

I'm curious if anyone else had "tall" sketches graded yet? I had a few widevision ones graded and conflicted whether I like how they look in the slab:
