Series 1 is going to be awesome. I selfishly hope Cags stays cold to finish this year so I can pick up some of his really low numbered cards from Series 1 before he puts it all together and starts hitting 475ft HR's every week.

Absolutely! Crazy to think we still have a little more than 2 weeks to add to this list! I'm starting to get 2024 Update vibes from 2026 Series 1.

Bob Seymour called up for the Rays and added to the list. 26 year old RC but big power this year at Triple A.

Incredible power, but also incredibly high strike out numbers. He will be one of those .210 hitters that you see on highlights hitting moonshots.

It's been such a treat to watch him with the Bulls this season. My wife and I were just at the game the other night where he had 3 homers in 3 straight at bats. He's a fan favorite too! Really rooting for him in the majors.

I mean still a few names that can easily be added if Bubba or JJ get called up....but also just as easily some could get put in Series 2.

That's true but I'm just going on what Topps has done in the past. June 1st to August 31st, you're in Series 1.

Just a quick google search of 2024 Topps Series 2 rookies and these players all debuted before Aug 31 and were held for series 2:
360 Steven Cruz, Kansas City Royals RC
363 Bryce Jarvis, Arizona Diamondbacks RC
391 Forrest Wall, Atlanta Braves RC
397 Jacob Young, Washington Nationals RC

So it's far from a hard rule as I found 4 that broke it in the first 40 cards on the checklist.

Either way with the amount of very good prospects debuting right now, I still feel 2026 Series 1 will be a beast of a release. We'll see when checklist time happens. Hopefully before preorder!

Bubba Chandler added! There's no way they have all these guys in Series 1 do they???? Man if so, 2026 Series 1 will be the release of the year along with Topps Chrome!

there is no reason to have them all in S1

S1 has always sold itself regardless of the "First Topps" cards on the checklist.

Also, its the 75th anniversary of the brand, so the pump will be higher than normal

What a way to kick that anniversary off! It will be loaded for sure!

If they're going to release series 2 in early-mid June, then series 2 is going to have to mostly have RCs from guys that debuted in 2025. I don't think they have the ability to do art, manufacturing, packaging, and distribution on guys that first appear in the majors around March 31 and have the product on the shelves barely more than two months later. If this is going to be the release timeline, then it feels like Topps Chrome is going to be the first set that's going to have most of the actual 2026 debuts in it and the paper cards are going to be in Update.

Well from years past, Topps takes guys who debut from around May 30th to roughly August 25th and have them in the following year's Series 1. Then from August 26th to opening day, they have their players for Series 2. I've checked a few past releases and Topps will randomly select guys in the May 30th - August 25th (it seems like a lot of pitchers) from the year prior and dump them into Series 2 for the following year. Not sure how they choose but it happens. I'd say the bulk of this list on page 1 goes into Series 1. Going to be a hell of a release!!

My guess would be more they fudge the date line - like I would be pretty surprised if Basallo winds up in Series 1 when they have Caglianone and Anthony types to headline it.

Yea, they are definitely pushing people now to Series 2. There is no reason to keep cramming rookies into Series 1 with this many now available. And talented guys too, not just garbage call ups.

Never know but you're probably right. Can't wait to see who gets called up after I'd say August 25th. They for sure will most likely be in Series 2. If I had to bet, I'd say at least 85% of these guys on this list will be in Series 1. Who? We'll have to see a checklist.

Agree. I think everybody after Caissie will be held back for S2. That would give us two big market rookies (Caissie, Garcia), the #1 overall prospect (Basallo), and a stud pitcher (Chandler). That right there is pretty solid start to a class, let alone whoever else gets called up between now and the end of the year.

Series 2 could get Murakami too after he signs with the Dodgers this winter. He will be a HUGE chase if he comes over and does even halfway decent.
