I didn't go to my 20th, I moved away from home right after school, never went back. So I don't really know those people anymore. Next year will be 25 years for me, and I feel confident I won't make the trip

I think I'd rather talk to my former classmates' kids than my classmates themselves. I spent my highschool years in a small rural midwest town that i havent been back to in years. I couldnt get out fast enough, and feel for any kid growing up there. Its generally true of my family reunions as well, my cousins' kids are more interesting than my cousins have become.

This is 100% accurate

With social media? You can find me

I’ll grab a beer with you

That’s plenty

Hairy would definitely go if Stifle's Mom was going to be around.

I kept up with the people I wanted to keep up with. All the others can go jump off a cliff as far as I care.

A high school reunion is getting together with people you haven't really had an interest in talking to or hung out with for decades.

This year was my 30th HS reunion. Got a message from the girl coordinating it on Facebook saying 'hey would love to see you there!'. Previous message from her...2014

It’s pretty clear she wants you.

I went to mine but in disguise, told them I was an exchange student and was funny to hear people tell stories about me way back when.

I've never been to one, mainly because I moved out of the state 2 years after graduating. My Highschool was pretty weird looking back. I'd say the majority of my class were there to actually learn/go to college and not there for friends/popularity like you see in movies. If I look up my graduating class in social media... I get plenty of results from my school of other classes but not mine (class of 98). HS was just a short blip on the way to more important things.

It's sad to see people who, decades later, still consider HS the greatest time in their lives. The interesting aspect is that so many people embellish their own history that they create a memory of something in the past that is much different than the actual reality.

It doesn't actually have to be about embellishment of oneself. Memories are tricky things...

I came back down here for my 10th. I stayed with B&K. It was a good reason to see them and finally meet their daughter for the first time. She was about 22 months old at the time. I remember very little from the actual reunion except that it sucked. It sucked so bad that I don't think they even tried to have another one. This year would have been our 40th. B has lived in the same house ever since and he has never heard anything about any reunion since the 10th. No big deal to me as B is the only person I am still in contact with, though I lived next door to someone in my class for several years after I moved back down here. Knew of him in school but that was it.

As an earlier poster said, with social media I don't really see the point of reunions, I keep up with who I want to when I want to with it.

I graduated in '98, our 10 year had a good turn out... It was the first one, it was "cool" and social media still wasn't was what it is today....

But the 20th and 25th year ones got minimal turn out.

There was a Facebook group and pictures were posted... The 10'ish people that showed up were definitely the ones you'd expect to be holding on to the "glory days" of high school...

My Dad on the other hand, someone who doesn't do social media, he just went to his 50th high school reunion...
At that point I think you're just trying to see who's still alive and who's not...

Our class of 100 (1997) doesn't even have a reunion. I guess a few of them got together at a restaurant/bar the summer of 10 years, that was about it. Guess our class just communicates with who they want to via Facebook.

You’re telling me one of the biggest towns in Wisconsin doesn’t have a formal reunion?
