Several counterfeit 2004 Ultimate Collection Michael Jordan Buybacks have recently hit the market. Recommend taking a really good look at the cards and certifications, if looking to acquire a copy.

Didn't see it for sale, but came across this fake Kobe posted on IG and thought it would be good to document. It may already be a known copy, but several in the thread don't have serial numbers listed.

An obvious counterfeit card of 1996 Kobe legacy was listed on Ebay as Reprint. I reported the listing to Ebay and they said they have reviewed my report and it is not in violation of their policy. I don't know what else to do, anyway, the fake card has been sold: https://www.ebay.com/itm/13565189507...Bk9SR_DP9bG8ZQ

Unfortunately, there's not much you can do. Reporting listings to ebay and other auction sites that consistently allow fakes to be sold, is a frustrating process.

While this initial sale and fake aren't good, the problems only get worse if the next seller doesn't disclose the card is a counterfeit.

The seller never disclosed that the card is a fake, so it's not just an issue for the next seller. Saying that it is a reprint is not the same as saying it's a fake. There are no reprint legally made by the previous company Fleer or the current company UD. Calling a fake card as reprint is not correct and is violation of usage of player and NBA likeness.

Correct. I wasn't suggesting this first sale was okay or "reprint" used correctly. Even grading companies have used the term "reprint" in place of fake/counterfeit, so while not accurate, "reprint" happens to be a commonly misused hobby term.

Thought I would update this, as Goldin ended up pulling the Kobe and Iverson auctions, but chose to sell the fake Duncan. Goldin even promoted to auction/card, after being notified of the issues.
