I hope they don't. I think the kerning would look fine with a leading 1. I agree a fatter number like 2 will be more problematic but I hope they just change the font point as slightly as possible so that it doesn't touch the baseball outline and maintain everything else in the design.

Probably in the minority but if they do change the design and restart number, I'd just refer to them as series 1 and series 2 ...

Looking ahead a couple weeks, would be cool to have a dual Dick Allen week heading into his HOF induction - one young with the Phillies and one with the White Sox, where his stay was short but memorable.

I may be wrong, but it looks like there's just enough room to fit a 4-digit number within the baseball. It might need a slight width resizing, but it shouldn't be much. I personally hope they don't change the design of the set, but if they do, I'm with you in referring to them as Series 1 and Series 2.

Maybe, but that shouldn't be the case. MacKenzie Gore as a Nat should be on the release schedule. Other Nats like Jake Irvin are just as worthy as all of the A's that have been produced recently.

Topps updated the card and I've uploaded the corrected image.

I never noticed before, but I appreciate that the stats are always listed as of the last game played. The error card was as of 7/7, but the corrected image is as of 7/9. Cool touch on the part of Topps.
