At this point, any team that cares about the playoffs should take a long look at him before the trade deadline. The White Sox keeping him would just be bad business, he's a FA next year.
I don’t think a championship contender wants a guy batting under .200 in their lineup regularly.

You’re naive to think he won’t improve when playing for a better team.

There is a 99% chance the dodgers don't trade for him

it isn't what they do

By how much? His BA and OBP have fallen every season since 2021 and now he's a rounding error from replacement value.

Robert is so cooked. Stolen bases aside and the ability he be a gold glove his approach to wanting to be a great hitter is lacking. I think problem is, not just him, but hitters truly working on pitch recognition. I don’t know but great hitters know how to recognize the spin and lay off trash. Oh and hammer the hittable pitches consistently.

he's also on the worst team in mlb history. I do agree that him getting traded would be the fresh start he needs.

I dont know if Ive posted much in here, but I think Robert needs to go. I dont think he like Chicago, the Management, the Players. I thought he was a large reason they struggled and didnt seems to have much of a playful attitude. I think he doesnt want to lose, but he also doesnt want to be the face of the team. If he went to Boston/NY/LA I think he becomes a Super Star, but anywhere he is expected to be #1 its going to be problems.

I agree with this sentiment. I thought he did ok as a leader for Cuban and other Spanish speaking players watching the off-season videos created by the WS. But I wonder if there is a language barrier that limits him as the "Captain" where he is just too uncomfortable trying to be that type of leader to everyone else.

For example, if he has one really good month his stats will look so much better, we are only 45 games in and there are some positives in comparison to previous seasons. Being surrounded by better players pitchers will have to make different choices which Robert could benefit from. That being said, Robert will have to prove me right.

I agree, especially when he isn’t doing well himself, all the focus is going to him on playing better and he can’t be bothered with others right now.

Copium to the highest degree to think he’ll just turn it around and be a good player with a trade to a better team. Wake up. He’s just not that good, and he doesn’t care. He’s on pace to be one of just a few of players with a higher strikeout number than batting average. That’s how bad he is.

The irony is that you think what I’m doing is trolling and what you do in the Soto thread is not. The worse Robert plays, the more you post in the Soto thread. It’s pretty much a lock at this point that if Robert has a golden sombrero, you can be found in the Soto thread when I wake up.

Two solid games against Texas, if Robert plays well the odds of winning improve significantly, let’s hope he keeps this up.

A couple of stats from May.

1 HR
30.9% SO Rate

They may just keep him, they won't get much for him at all and hope for him to bounce back by next years trade deadline.

At this rate no way do the White Sox keep him next year for $20 million, they should probably see if they can trade him for anything at this point.

It's amazing he has 21 steals with his poor average and OBP lol.

There's no way a team trades for him knowing they will owe him 20 million next year unless the Sox agree to take on much of his salary and maybe get a decent prospect in return for taking on salary. I'm reaching for straws here,he has really screwed over. the rebuild now.

It’s a team option. If he gets traded before the deadline, it will be for peanuts. And any contender will be quick to bench him if he doesn’t quickly turn it around. He’s a literal black hole in one of the worst lineups in baseball history. His performance is implausible at this point.

Best case is he follows the Eloy Jimenez trajectory. Traded for peanuts, slight uptick after trade.

Of course Eloy signed with the Rays, got sent to the minors and is "shockingly" injured again, but nobody is perfect.
