Maybe a perfect shot.

I am actually surprised that it's not him holding the WS MVP trophy. Maybe that will be the Stadium Club variation...

It does go well with this one:

upcoming...

3000 hits - currently at 2308 (would be the 34th ever to achieve it)
600 doubles - currently at 518 (19th ever to achieve)
400 home runs - currently at 352 (59th ever to achieve)
1500 RBI's - currently at 1262 (57th ever to achieve)
1000 Extra Base Hits - currently at 902 (40th ever to achieve)

At 35, while still playing at an MVP level, he should start to see some sort of decline in the next two years. If he can stay healthy, he should reach all of these milestones, with 3000 hits being the toughest.
I actually think he's valued properly, and he's one of my favorite players. He's in clear first-ballot HOF territory now, but he's probably in the back half of the top 10 1B since I've been collecting (Pujols, Thomas, Thome, Cabrera, and Bagwell being the top 5). He gets better treatment in the hobby than Thome, Cabrera, and Bagwell IMO. There's also the issue of his being heavily identified with two teams now. His Dodgers cards were ice-cold initially, but after the postseason heroics, they are picking up steam. Now there are Freeman collectors not interested in the Braves cards, and others not interested in the Dodgers. That split helps keep Freeman prices a tick lower than they might be. Being the third best player on his team is absurd, but he is, and that also helps explain his hobby position. Is he underpriced compared to youngsters like Skenes? Sure, but that's a hobby-wide issue, not a referendum on Freeman. I'm hard-pressed to find a comparable vet to Freeman, with cards that are glaringly priced higher. Baseball Reference lists Votto, Goldschmidt, Edgar Martinez, and Will Clark as his closest comps, and Freeman is a tier above all of those guys in terms of hobby respect.

I agree with most of what you mentioned. I will say that I might disagree with baseball reference (on this one at least) with his comps. The comps are accurate if Freddie's career was to end today, however, Freddie is still playing at an MVP level and with all those milestones closing in, I believe the accurate comps are Murray, McCovey, and Miggy.

Good point. I think Murray and Miggy are the right modern comps as well. When you look at similar players by age on Baseball Reference, it's a long string of Eddie Murray. Freeman seems to be a smidge more popular than Miggy and Murray in the hobby.

RC cards always beat the insane amount of cards printed in non RC years.

Freddie is just insanely popular. He's now a Dodger legend and I would imagine that Braves fans still like him quite a bit...he also won a ring with them.

If you want to “invest” in cards, this guy should be a no brainer.

It's numbered to /10. I may be wrong but I thought all of the Opening Day autos from all years were numbered to /10. I believe I have a Dustin May auto also and it is numbered to /10.

I'm still a huge Freddie fan. He's one of the few non-Braves I actively collect.

Yeah, he’s on the list of players I call “non-hobby darlings whose high grade, rarer rookies cares still aren’t given away for free”. Jose Ramirez is also on that list.
