Other than Roki, that is one of the worst checklists I can remember for a Flagship product in a bit.

One thing I can say: the RC checklist is pretty underwhelming overall. I don't understand the hurry in releasing S2 so closely after S1.

If it were me, I would have released it after the ASB to allow more rookies time to get their cards in here. Hopefully Update will pick up the slack.

So no Rc SP's or are those never on the checklist?

Updated with more images and parallel info. No whiff of Black parallels in three box formats there -- hobby, jumbo, hobby blaster.

Series 2 has always been the first half of June, except 2021 where it was in April apparently. And it's always had a weak rookie checklist.

It will be interesting to see which rookies they SP, which has been the major draw in the last couple years.

I'm really curious about the Cardinals Base Card Variation Autograph set.

The checklist looks exactly like a Series 2 checklist.

Would of at least expected the guys in the SP list to be on the regular checklist.

Have they done that in the recent past? I don’t feel like they have…

They did the exact same thing last year with the Jacksons

Series 2 is pretty much always the worst flagship release. Worst checklist during the slowest time of the year for card sales (summer). Nothing happening here is surprising.

Series 1 gets the big names from the second half of the previous season. Update gets the big names called up early on in the current season. Series 2 gets the scrap pile and a couple bigger name SPs.

Like every trilogy, the middle is the worst.

Series 2 always has at least a few decent names. This is horrible compared to years past. And also not a single mention of the Blacks. Disaster.

What name do you feel is missing that should be in there? In-season call ups before mid May are for Update.

Last year Series 2 was headlined by Yamamoto and Imanaga. That is hardly an improvement on this year. 2024 S2 was still a really fun release due to the SPs and hopefully this year will be the same.

I like it a lot, but I'm a Dodger fan.
Sasaki and Hyeseong Kim RCs plus Casparius & Henriquez, the Andy Pages Future Star, and title-year cards for Betts, Ohtani, Muncy, Barnes, Kiké, Outman, Kopech, Miller, Joe Kelly, and Knack, plus new players Conforto, Yates, and Snell already make it a home run for fans of the Champs, but the WORLD CHAMPION AUTOGRAPH CARD SET featuring Ohtani, Kershaw, Pages, Casparius, Henriquez, Phillips, Freeman, Stone, Flaherty, Outman, Wrobleski, Kiermaier, Knack, Betts, Muncy, Ryan, Edman, Gonsolin, Teoscar, Buehler, Smith, and Yamamoto with multiple duals of these players really put it over the top.

The First Pitch of Rickey Henderson will be a nice memorial card.

Yamamoto, Shota, and the SPs carried Series 2 last year. This year it's Sasaki and the SPs.

It's easy to look back now and compare, but PCA wasn't moving the needle at release last year
