Awesome pickup, broski. You've been an a1 clecter for as long as I've know you. That's a fine addition to the stash.

Appreciate the kind words brother. The past couple years I’ve jumped back in the hobby pretty hard after liquidating for life expenses and have had a blast. I went to all baseball for a while, but couldn’t resist dabbling back in some NBA stuff. I’m actually enjoying how affordable some of the decent non auto stuff is these days. The market narrowing and cooling off isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

This guy always gets it.

So much hyperfocus on this forum on ROI and 401k aggregate comps for psa10 slabs. Who cares. Not everyone's in this for a meal ticket or getting over on the next man.

Glad you enjoy it, that's a great card of a great player dude.

Giannis would be one of the best modern guys to collect. My Son is a huge fan.

Great story, great player.

It will be a sad day when he moves on, I see him more in the KG type collector base, which is a good thing. Hopefully he goes to a bigger market, not that it really matters.

The OKC rumors would be fun if came true.

I'd prefer him to be a Buck for life and be a Dirk type guy.

Welp.

This feels eerily similar to Rodgers walking off the field after the 2022 NFC Divisional game vs. the 49ers. Everyone knew it was over, but he and the Packers decided to give it one last ride even though it would have been best for both parties to end it right there.

I love Giannis, just like I do Rodgers, but it's time. If the Bucks want to have any shot at successfully overhauling this team, they need to trade him when his value is high and he's uninjured. The time is now. It sucks, but they have to trade him.

Celtics offer JD Davison, Drew Peterson, Xavier Tillman, Jordan Walsh & Neemias Queta and a couple of 1sts and pick swaps, who says no?

Giannis on Celtics? Naw. The J's definitely do not want a G.

Giannis will always have collectors because he has charisma and heart, and is great at what he does.

Totally get this take. It would make me sad (not that this matters or that I'm a Bucks fan) because I want to see Giannis play out his career in Milwaukee, but I'm sure there's just no path to success moving forward due to lack of assets to trade or picks to build through the draft.

Very good article by John Hollinger in the Athletic (paywalled) about potential trade destinations for Giannis:

Also, the Celtics thank the Bucks for Jrue.

Really accelerated the downfall trading off Jrue for Dame.

It'd just be a Dame 2.0 scenario where they hold onto him forever and people get to see him play in forest green and white for a while, but never get to see him have success.

Like what do we really have with Dame's legacy? Hitting that dagger to send OKC home several years ago and other stuff of that nature?

Idk, a lot of Bucks fans seem upset when people suggest he needs to leave and say "you're just fans of the player and not the team" but to keep him around on a team with a long rebuild ahead without its own picks for like 5 years or something wild like that, that kind of sounds like they're willing to torpedo the team to keep him around. That also sounds like "being a fan of the player and not the team" as well.

By the way, the Nesmith - Giannis greeting, which was what I tracked most closely, was brief but heartfelt, like two equal competitors. I think that's what Benn reacted to. He basically felt demeaned or patronized by whatever Giannis said, like he was implying he was not really having the role he wished on the '25 Pacers. (I think he actually wanted to recruit him to the Bucks or whatever team he lands on to be a primary short forward)

The way Math feels, that was a slight. Also he was really angry at the way Bucks inflicted injuries a couple times and standing up for teammates.

On the proposition, [moved to appropriate thread].

It’s honestly probably a win for both the Bucks (long term) and Giannis if he heads to greener pastures. The man already won Milwaukee a Championship, but there’s not another in the cards with the current configuration.

They don’t have the supporting cast to win with him now, so your best long term solution would be to secure some assets and start the rebuild while he has peak value.

He can make a team a contender in a hurry. Some teams already in contention would be downright terrifying if they were to add the Greek Freak. The offseason will be interesting.

I think he should stay in Milwaukee only if he can stomach the role of a kinder, gentler guiding force. He is one of the most kind of coherent voices in the region at the moment and a great statesman for sustainable mind use.

@ninjabum87, Injuries aside, i'm curious on how much blame would you put on Giannis in all this mess? Not to throw any shade on him or anything but threatening to look elsewhere if he feels that the Bucks are not in a position to "win on a sustained basis in the long term." has led to the bad trades, Bad front office asset management & the coaching carousel.

Look with Dame as a player/coach in Miami on a minimum Wiseman flyer, that frees up $48.9 mil. in liquid capital. They could add Math and a Bryant, and obviously Indy takes Trent (he's free agent, never mind).

Yeah, like I said I get it, just kinda bums me out. Like, Dirk and the Mavs won in 2011, and he was on the team til he retired nearly a decade later, even when the team wasn't seeing the same level of success. I would think it would be somewhat of a similar career trajectory if Giannis is in Milwaukee and doesn't win another one. If I'm a fan of player and team, that's personally what I would want.

Though I recognize the bolded as true: both sides are likely closer to their next championship if they part ways. Doesn't mean I have to like it, humph!

Giannis will get to choose his destination pretty much.

He's earned that.

Hopefully the Spurs can give it a crack. I doubt it though.

OKC makes a ton of sense for Giannis and Milwaukee. But he may want a bigger market.

If the Bucks and Giannis do part ways, it will be done with Giannis best interests and with long term interests of both sides in mind.

The Bucks organization knows how valuable he's been and how much he has meant to this team. That will overcome any potential media frenzy that could be thrown at them.

Houston and OKC still remain the two teams that have a competitive team AND draft capital. The Pistons and Spurs do offer some intrigue though.

I also like Houston as a destination, it seems like they’re in dire need of #1 option.

Giannis to the Raptors will heat up again. Masai has a long personal history with Giannis and has wanted to get him to Toronto since he joined the team in 2013 before the draft. Early rumours are Scottie Barnes and this years first or Barrett/quickley/dick w/picks.

Whatever it takes to get the deal done...Giannis will be worth it
