Not like I think it bails him out in any way, but that last TD pass was one of the greatest SB passes in history that no one wants to talk about. Cannot wait to see Worthy unleashed next season.
Sorry I didn't watch, I'm too busy watching the gatorate bath the Sirriani took

I’d rather lose in the SB badly vs being 0-4 like the bills vs chiefs..bills haven’t seen the SB since who knows how long ago…
Your boy Josh Allen doesn’t even get to participate

Isn’t it sad when your team loses, you go on and bash another team for losing..the world we live in is funny

Even sadder when people welch on their bets and have no integrity. Don't waste your time with him.

So no one watches playoff games?? I’m sure many people have seen now 0-4..I will always choose getting into the SB vs falling short…3-2 SB record is light years better than 0-0 Allen

And this.

Both Brady/Mahomes were/are really fun to watch. The only thing I worry about Mahomes is that he will have to change his game as he gets older. Brady didn't have to change. Pat's legs can't save him the older he gets. Can he turn into a primarily pocket passer? Time will tell. Josh Allen is in the same spot. This is why the NFL is so great to watch.

I'm never comparing Allen to Mahomes accolade wise. I'm just saying it's embarrassing to put up that kind of performance in the most watched SB ever

Mahomes is fun to watch? He was fun to watch, these past 2 seasons there's no fun involved when watching them, just slowly moving the sticks, short passes, rush, kinda boring to watch. They didn't even get more than 30 points this regular season

Yes, Mahomes is actually fun to watch. Don't worry, Josh Allen is fun to watch for me as well. Jayden Daniels, Hurts, Jackson, Stroud, Goff, etc. The NFL is a fun watch.

I mean depends on your definition of "FUN" then, I find explosive plays fun to watch. Short passes and slants? Not so much

I just have to chuckle at all of these interesting takes. When you are at the top of the mountain, everybody is gunning for you. There are certainly a handful of rational takes, but the jealousy and outright hate in this thread is obnoxious. I just don’t get it.

I guess all these people commenting in the thread can go spend their hard-earned dollars on QBs like Lamar, Allen, Burrow, Hurts, Purdy, Stroud, Daniels, etc. Mahomes didn’t become the starter till 2018, which is the same year that Allen and Lamar took over their franchises. People forget that Mahomes lost an entire year already sitting behind Alex Smith in 2017. Good luck on buying these other QBs…so much optimism already built into their pricing that gets more fragile by the day. Just imagine what the pricing will be on Jayden Daniel stuff at the National. Will have 3 super bowls built into the pricing.

Will be interesting to see what happens to Mahomes pricing over the coming months as we go through the off-season. If his pricing goes down materially, it stands to reason that it should negatively impact pricing for almost every other quarterback, as it’s hard to justify investing behind a more speculative player without any hardware relative to Mahomes. I’m sure there will be the typical dislocation for a period of time in the market until it corrects itself

For Mahomes collectors and/or Chiefs fans: the great news is that we still have a 29 year-old three time Super Bowl winning quarterback with the coaching staff intact and one of the top general managers in the game. Should be some great buying opportunities in the off-season to pick up cards you’ve had your eye on. Just drown out the noise like you’ve done since we lost to Tampa in the Super Bowl when there was no way that we would be able to maintain our success. I fully expect a fired up Mahomes next year to reclaim his throne

Brady said if he got pressured he'd just dump it to James White every play to counter it. Take what the defense gives you. I appreciate it all. I love a shootout, I love a defensive struggle. I can appreciate them both. It's a fun game. This isn't the thread for this but yes, I love the game. Mahomes will be fine, anything he does in the future is just gravy for his legacy. I really do hope Allen wins the big one eventually. Big fan of his too.

This makes too much sense for some folks…if mahomes isn’t a buy, who the hell is? He has had the best 7 year run and will likely have a run into this 30s..he doesn’t rely on his legs as much as any other QBs (Lamar , Allen, hurts etc)…he can play both small ball and big ball ..though he needs to tap into the deep balls more this year ..that last throw to worthy was a thing of beauty

One thing people also forgot is that marketability is also a very huge thing for card prices. Nobody likes Mahomes outside of KC. Look at Ohtani, everyone loves them, that's why he's priced higher than Mahomes despite only having 1 world series compared to mahomes 3 sb

Amen.

If a guy who can hit WRs on the hands 40 or 50 yards downfield isn't valued in the NFL, I don't know what is. Lol.
We've seen Mahomes put up all kinds of crazy stats when he had Tyreek, and Worthy is just a rook right now.
Rashee Rice will be back also. Any FA receiver would love to go to the Chiefs (as we saw last FA and midseason). The show will go on.

Burrow or Mahomes (maybe Nix?) are about the only younger star QBs in the league who are exciting and don't rely a ton on their legs.
Herbert and Purdy and Stroud aren't really elite.
Penix or JJ McCarthy and Maye and Caleb are too raw to know much right now.
Goff and Stafford and ARodg and Dak are passers, but getting older.
Lamar, Hurts, Daniels, Allen are mainly runners, who pass some too.
I do think Josh Allen can make the change to more of a pocket passer and have a good long career also, but many of those other "designed QB run" guys probably won't be able to.

There really is no better QB in the game than Mahomes (passer or overall)... and it's not very close. Maybe one of the 2024 rooks will rise to near his level, maybe not. Pat would instantly improve any team beside the few that are 100% designed for a runner QB (Balt, Phi), but even those ones could change a bit to where he'd upgrade them too.

Brady was the least liked qb and dynasty ..look how much love he is getting now ..people have short term memory

In terms of mahomes, he has a huge fan base..he’s one of the highest selling jerseys and his cards are already amongst the most collected..he’s actually very humble and does alot for charities..go find me a bad press conference of him..you won’t ..dudes been a perfect guy for the Face of the league ..check the Ratings, all chiefs games have the highest ratings ..all TV wants are chiefs to be in their prime time slots…geez I wonder why

And marketability ??? Dudes been on literally every other commercial lol

It’s definitely close. Burrow, Lamar, Allen are all close.

What sets Mahomes apart is he is best, usually, when the lights are brightest. That’s historically what we reward with our fandom. See Joe Namath for a perfect example.

It’s why this loss is potentially bad for his legacy.

He’s amazing, everyone knows that. But these losses sting.

This play still kills me.

3rd down and 11 and the Eagles make their biggest mistake of the first half. If Hopkins catches what is legitimately the most wide open route ive ever seen, he waltzes in past the closest defender 20 yards away with a blocker in front of him for an easy touchdown. Its still just 24-7 but at least there's some momentum going into the half.

Instead we probably got the worst drop in Super Bowl history.

You just named a guy who has missed the playoffs more years than he's made it.

Don't get caught up in the moment. You're better than that
