When I started doing reselling as a fun side hustle this was my first big time find. I bought it at a church sale for $1 and eventually sold it for $150. I probably could've gotten more for it if I held out longer but I was thrilled with the profit margin.

Happy with this find tonight! Not the greatest of condition, most seemed very curled ,(hoping it doesn't infer soaked) but for 1932's ill take them! Fun little item to catalog and stash away as I find the tabacco memorabilia kinda interesting (these are 1932 Butterflies issued by John Player and Sons of Great Britain and Ireland)

Forgive my ignorance but those are tobacco cards (like the ones we have here) but they all curled up to some degree? Two questions, how did they curl and why didn't they crease if they curled? Like are they not regular cardboard? They made a football card set around 2000 from Pacific where the cards were fabric. Anything like that? Regardless, yeah I'd have bought them too.

So these arent technically a card but a wet and transfer type item (think youre old school kids wet and stick tattoo)

If it wasnt for some old balls ive gotten over the years and Allen and Ginter id have no idea. Didnt know what these were originally but had an idea thanks to the old Arm and Hammer cards (yes you're baking soda)...im telling ya lots of fun card type history out there!

Oh that's a neat find. 35+ years of this crap and there is still stuff I don't know and people find it. One of the guys in my collecting circle is working on a weird Chinese Bruce Lee tobacco sized card set. There are 20 total. The backs have pictures of a generic baseball pitcher (like you'd find on playing cards). The front Bruce Lee. He's been stuck on that set forever. It'd be a fun one to try but lord only knows if you'd succeed. But that is part of the fun isn't it?

People are so frustrating. They think we control the USPS and how fast stuff ships. Lady files item not received because of course they screwed up and sent the package in wrong direction even though package shows it's on the way. Not to mention a snow storm in most of the midwest that affects the mail. Escalates it today after being delivered. Not my fault the usps is incompetent. I think she is looking to keep the item and getting a full refund.

Last week, I had positive feedback left that said "Nice product but service was a bit slow. Thanks anyway."

It was an ESE shipment, but tracking still shows that it was accepted/in transit the day after purchase (on Christmas Eve, no less). Tracking doesn't pop up again until 1/9 as Destination Processing, then Delivered on 1/13.

It was clearly dropped off, with 2 holidays in between drop off and delivery, but it's somehow my fault "service was a bit slow?"

It took restraint for me to not reply to the feedback since it's a positive, but still frustrating.

Got this positive in the past week..

"Beautiful card, perfect condition. Little expensive but worth it for my personal collection"

Had a guy wait a month to open a return on me for a Gamecube that had a little wear. A 20+ year old console with a "little wear".

Guy ships it back in a damaged box, doesn't wrap it in the bubble wrap I provided and just sits it on top of it.

Get it back and the buttons are stuck on it and I can no longer close the lid.

I give him a 50% refund and explain why. He has eBay step in (waiting for a verdict) and leaves me a negative.

Maybe don't send an item back that has minimal wear to it and works great if you can't ship it back properly.

So annoying. Waiting on the outcome of the case before I ask eBay to step in and remove the negative hopefully.

Are you 100% sure that your buyer sent back the exact one that you sold him?

eBay ended up refunding the buyer out of their pocket instead of mine for USPS negligence.

That I actually don't know. eBay sided with me and removed the negative but ended up giving the buyer his money back but not from my account.

Hate to see people like that win, but it is what it is.

I bought a binder of John Player tobacco cards on HiBid awhile back. When I was going through them I noticed a bunch of them were "tacky" and couldn't figure out why. Now I know! That's pretty cool stuff, thanks for sharing!

I ended up selling the Construction Game for $195. Could I have gotten more? Probably, but I will take the fast $190 profit.

Some were released with adhesive backs intended to be stuck in the set binder you could get at the store. Those are different than the temporary tattoo style transfers this person has.

I'm going to try this on my days off. Sick of the prices of wax. Question. What do you guys use to determine value on something. I just started using Google lens and it works pretty well on determining value. Any other apps worth downloading? I expect to find jack squat but will fun to try for the first time.

I only sell on eBay so eBay completed listings for me.

Don't go in thinking you won't find anything. Don't set your expectations to make a $10-20 profit on everything. I can guarantee you that won't happen. Just remember all the $2-3 profit items add up.

Have fun! It's very enjoyable to sell something for more than you bought it for!

I'm curious if anyone else has run across the same problem I recently encountered.

In the past 3-4 months, I've received a bunch of different offers on various items from Malaysia. Offers have been accepted but I haven't received payment on a single item yet.

I'm sure the first advice will be, "Don't accept offers from Malaysia." Yes, I understand that. I now take a much closer look to see where the potential buyer id from. In the end, it's not a huge deal because I wait the required 4 days, cancel the item, then relist. It's just more of an annoyance than anything.

Well, this is a new one. I have a buyer messaging me incessantly right now. Tracking shows package was delivered yesterday. Buyer claims they have not received the package yet. The buyer is demanding that I send them a photo of the package at the time of delivery (on their front porch). I don't even know what to say...
