This feels like a subtle sales thread using a workaround. Beyond literally posting your own card, my first thought reading the title was "Huh, Topps Chrome Disney is insanely popular" and that isn't Lorcana.

Only entering the thread which I'm sure the title intended do you find out you are speaking on vintage an not just vintage but pre-1990 which just so happens to be the timeline your collection looks to be from, but you are literally speaking about Walt Disney the man cards not Disney in general. Gonna disagree with thread title and say Disney cards are popular and more accurate description would be "Why does no one collect Walt Disney's RC?"

EDIT: If anyone asks beyond Topps Chrome, the 1991 Impel Disney cards are also very popular and not Lorcana

I will have to check out the Impel. That's another brand I haven't heard of. I wasn't into Disney until 2013. So I didn't collect any of the junk wax stuff. I've just seen some of the Lorcana (I think that's what you mean by Topps Chrome) at the shows I go to.

Hey I bought a box of Beauty and the Beast back in the day when I was young

Edit: nvm that was Pro Set. Ok looks like Impel had a 1991 Disney set…holos and that sort of thing. I’m not sure about uber-popular, but I guess it did ok since most of Impel’s sets back then were well-received. But mass produced up the wazoo too

Lorcana isn't that popular. The game is basically dead at this point. They even cancelled the national tournament.

Here's my film frames from 2003 Disney Treasures

https://www.blowoutforums.com/showthread.php?t=1172305

Mid 90s Skybox released sets for just about every animated Disney movie from that time, but the presses really ran on those, so there's a massive amount of unopened product out there to this day. The base sets and chase cards tend to be pretty nice, but it's hard to imagine demand ever outstripping supply on them. There are a few Skybox Disney promo and mail-in cards from that era that command big premiums, though.

Upper Deck also released a "Beauty and the Beast" set way back when, story cards and holograms, but I believe it was intended for the international market, as Impel/Skybox held the USA rights at that time. Even so, plenty of it made its way out here.

By 1997, Upper Deck had secured the American Disney license and released a very nice set for "Little Mermaid", but that was right at the time when non-sports card sales in general were really slumping, so they weren't able to follow it up with much, until the Disney Treasure sets some 6 years later.
