that's why people should be cautiously optimistic about Jayden Daniels too. Don't buy into the media hype when they pump him to top 5 this off season like all these guys do.

100 percent agree. When I saw the pundits placing Stroud in the top 6-8 going into 2024 it blew my mind. His rookie year was good, but it wasn’t THAT good. Personally I’d bet much stronger on Daniels being a better long term option…but you’re right that JD will be hyped to the moon.

It's not that hard, dont buy rookies on their rookie season. If they balled 2 years straight then that's the time to buy (or played bad year 1 and looked good second year like bryce)

If they balled 2 consecutive seasons, they will most likely be out of your price range, unless you got deep pockets.

Which is why it’s almost always stupid to invest in rookie QBs. The odds of them being the next Brady or Mahomes is so small. It’s high risk, medium reward. Buy what you like at prices you won’t mind going to zero.

Next season they have a 1st place schedule again. I don't see things being a lot better.

The difference is last year when people were hyping Stroud his Qbr was
worse than Geno Smith. JD is currently 4th in Qbr

Tale as old as time, 2022 was Purdy, 2023 was Stroud, We'll see which QB will regress as hell on his sophomore season from this QB heavy class.

Dak had an even higher QBR as a rookie, but defenses made adjustments. Not saying don't be optimistic with Jayden, but still be cautious. QBR can plunge any season once the league starts to figure you out.

Had slightly more to do with his core of WR - Diggs, Nico, Tank - than it did with his talent. Talent was certainly a factor too. I hope his cards keep sinking. I'd like to pick up a few.

Purdy had a great 2023 though?

Dak has consistently been excellent in the regular season
until this year. He just hasn't been able to play at the
same level in the playoffs.

You like catching falling knives? PSA 10 Silver just sold for 374. To think that the same card is worth 4 digits just before season started is crazy -70% in 3 months

Oh ok he meant their prices. Thought he meant Purdy slumped his sophomore year.

Pretty pathetic performance by CJ yesterday I won't lie

He needs to lock in and figure some things out or we might be back in rebuild mode sooner than we think

Sure there are some excuses to make like playcalling and general ineptitude on offense (the o-line included) but some of them are just really easy throws he's not making

I mean Purdy success is heavily reliant on the players around him, he's a good system QB but def not the QB that can carry a team

It was really looking like he was going to break the Ohio State QB curse in the NFL. The curse might just be too strong to overcome.

It's pretty simple. If you were starting an NFL franchise today using current NFL QBs, where would Stroud rank on your QB draft board? There are 15 guys I would take above Stroud right now, but that doesn't factor in the O-Line and receivers which I think can make or break any QB. So let's just say he's 16th for argument's sake with a ton of upside since he's so young. That's good enough for a max contract extension and a long career. Forget card prices for a minute. Any team who had Stroud would be happy. It's that simple.

5 of their 7 losses were against Super Bowl contenders. They were 3-13 two years ago. They are now back-to-back division champs. What coach/GM/owner wouldn't be thrilled right now? Some of you act like you're planning his funeral but this franchise is in a great spot and the odds are good that they will continue to improve.
