Curious, but looking at the current Twins roster, who are Twins fans buying right now? Who are you selling?
Brooks Lee? Royce Lewis? Buxton? Some of these guys could be gone in trades soon? Does that dampen your desire to collect them? Maybe a better question, who are you running from and selling? |

I’m sure they like Walker Jenkins.

He has potential. There are Josh Hamilton (at the plate) comps out there. It just seems every Twins prospect underperforms. Kirilloff can barely break Mendoza, Sano was largely a bust. Even Joe Mauer, as good as he was, never developed the anticipated power. Gotta go back to David Arias Ortiz who blew up upon leaving the team. Then it's a long way back to Puckett.
None of the MLB roster excites me much. I like Bailey Ober on the mound but wouldn't buy more than a couple of his cards since they're simply not going to be worth anything down the road. Likewise with Pablo Lopez. Correa is nice but, like Mauer, gets on base a lot but doesn't touch 'em all more than a couple times a month. |

I have a saved search for a signed 1991 Topps Kirby Puckett.

Royce Lewis would be a good choice if he can stay healthy. I've given up on Buxton. There really isn't a great choice right now for who I would want to collect. I like the older HOFer guys like Puckett, Killebrew, Carew, Olivia, Molitor, Winfield, and Blyleven.

It seems like you're coming at this from an investing standpoint. It's true the Twins haven't hit on a true star, cream of the crop player in awhile, but they pretty consistently find good solid everyday players, and not just from their early draft picks. These guys may not be interesting from an investing standpoint, or even guys you'd necessarily have a reason to be a big fan of if you're not a Twins fan, but it's pretty simplistic if not flat out wrong to say they never have a prospect pan out
It also wasn't that long ago that the Twins had 2 perennial MVP candidates, a perennial Cy Young candidate, and one of the best relievers in the league in Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau, Johan Santana, and Joe Nathan, all on the same teams. If we can't even mention first ballot Hall of Famer Joe Mauer without also having to mention something about lack of power or injuries or whatever, that's just pretty telling that your bar is way too high I'm not even necessarily saying you're wrong here - it's true, the Twins haven't had a face of the league type guy in awhile. But if that's the bar, and we can't even accept Mauer as that guy (who he absolutely was), that bar is insane, and you're going to be left with just a few "interesting" players from any given generation to actually care about. And I just think that's pretty indicative of the hobby in present day and how little anybody who's not the best of the absolute best matters to anyone, and I just think that's too bad Quote:

I’m a big Twins collector and right now I usually look for:
1. Jenkins (he’s gonna be good) 2. Royce Lewis (cheaper now!) 3. Brooks Lee (still gonna be a good player) 4. Emmanuel Rodriguez (should debut this season) 5. Luke Keaschall (also should debut this year) I unfortunately have a large Eduouard Julien collection (could bounce back but had a bad sophomore season). No one other thank Jenkins is likely a superstar, but still some good players. |

I'm not a Twins fan, but I still collect mid-late 1990's Kirby Puckett rarities. Just snagged a PSA 9 1996 gold Finest the other day. Made me very happy. Now to get the gold refractor next!

![]() I'm not sure anyone on the current roster has much hobby upside, maybe Lee? We'll see how Luke Keaschall does coming back from TJ surgery. Prices still seem too high so folks must be buying. Maybe we'll see him at Target Field this season. I fully admit I was high on Luis Arráez and was really disappointed to see him go. Haven't really bounced back from that. |

I’m still buying into Lewis’ talent despite the atrocious 2nd half. The ball likes coming off his bat, natural power. |
